In a realm beyond sight, the sky shines gold, not blue The library, as usual, was empty of any real noise. Yes there were the constant flicking of the pages, an occasional yawn or two even, but the library was completely devoid of any voices for the moment. Perhaps that was why Yoko found herself there, as the silence was just beautiful and helped her relax after yet another nerve-wracking day. Or perhaps it was another reason entirely, one involving sitting at a table, by herself, close to the non-fiction section, which she had deemed a ghost town for the afternoon. The purple haired girl wasn’t doing anything naughty or inappropriate, as she was just far too polite for that, but was instead simply fixated on a manga book sitting in front of her and moving her fingers and hands into what would be notes on Duckling, her beloved oboe, had it been in her hands and the reed in her mouth. The most recurring note was B flat, as her pinky just apparently wished to twitch for the rest of the day and it was one the most common notes from the exercise she had played just a few hours before. Headphones were planted on her head, situated so one side rested properly on her ear and so the other side rested on her neck. If someone were to talk to her, it’d be rude to have not responded. A person might think that she was purposely ignoring them instead of simply not hearing them, and that might anger or upset them. Just the thought of it made a frown replace her relaxed and content expression. No, she wasn’t going to risk such a thing. Though, if she were being perfectly honest with herself, she had chosen this spot for a reason. She didn't really want to interact with a group of people. Hell, any number greater than two would be horrible for her at the moment. After the day she had just endured, a fellow new first year might agree with her, if they also didn't really interact, that is. She hadn't been able to really make eye contact with any of her other classmates, much less formulate enough words to carry on a conversation. She hadn't been since the week before, which, coincidentally, had been her first week of school. Perhaps she should have listened to her aunt and had at least spoken to a handful of other students. Her aunt knew as much as she did that her mind like to travel in repaeted Music from one of her favorite games, Final Fantasy VII, began to pour into her ear, and she knew it to be Anxiety. It fit the manga scene perfectly, which was kind of strange, but she knew it probably wouldn’t last long for very long. The manga had barely just enough plot to create a handful of these scenes, but she supposed she should be thankful. “Mayuri-san is going to die. I can feel it.” She murmured aloud, petting the illustration of her favorite character so far. “It’d be ironic if, after this scene, she got ran over. I mean, apparently, her brother is drinking and driving. And judging by the buildings, he’s definitely close-" She turned the page and immediately shut the book after looking over the first panel drawing. She paused her music, pulled off her headphones, and then gently laid them down ontop of the book. Then, she pinched herself, hard, on the forehead. “So mean, author-san~!” Yoko whispered to herself. | notes & tags 439 words First post with Yoko. Huzzah? XD |
