Well come on, and wake up 'Cause the hours you spend with your eyes closed You're just wasting moonlight Ella Francisca Poulin Twenty-Five · Female · French · Drama Instructor - Hair: Ella's hair is just around shoulder-length, very dark, very thick, and naturally has quite a bit of wave to it. Her bushel of black hair, while it seems at first glance to be an unruly mess, can actually be sort of tamed with relative ease and a bit of time. It doesn't hold any particular shape very well, however, so Ella usually has it tied back in a tight ponytail to keep it in check. Sometimes, to add a little bit of flair, she utilizes some temporary dye or hair chalk to give herself some vibrantly colorful highlights.
- Eyes: Her eyes are a very stark green, with a glint in them that one would be hard-pressed to describe in any way other than "mischievous". They're also wide and open a good deal of the time, giving one the impression that she's both alert and friendly. Or maybe predatory. Either or, really. They have the habit of quickly switching between wide-open full-on attentiveness and half-closed, drooping eyelid lazy stares. She has a habit of using eye-shadow colors with a dark palette to offset her pale complexion. She's also very expressive with her eyes; a given, considering how much that would come into play in her line of teaching.
- Face: Ella's pallid face is short and well-rounded, with the obvious standout points being her slightly pointed chin and her high cheekbones. Her nose is similarly short, not venturing that far out from her face before rounding back in with a soft contour. Really if she were self-conscious about any of her features, it would be her nose; she's sometimes referred to it in the past as her "little snubnose".
- Body: Standing at an average height of 5'7" and framed with seemingly delicate bone-structure, Ella is the very picture of a spoiled celebrity child (even though, ostensibly, she's not exactly one). Her unblemished skin is a light peach color, her hands and fingers appear to be suitably dainty, and her fingernails are perfectly manicured (her toenails are in similar shape as she always keeps on top of a mani- and a pedi-, but they're often not visible because she prefers not to wear open-toed shoes and sandals). It's obvious by the way she carries herself that she's comfortable with her own body, not being caught up in frivolous worries about things she couldn't possibly hope to change - though when she was a young teen, she did often malign the fact that she wasn't as 'well developed' as some of the other girls. Teen Ella eventually took solace in her having a very cushiony rump.
- Clothing: Ella has what some would call a very eccentric taste in fashion, but she manages to keep that facet of herself under wraps for the most part, with it really only coming out when she has to perform for something or when she's feeling fancy. That being said, her wardrobe is pretty eclectic; the 'normal' portion is full of suitably normal-looking tops and bottoms - blouses, cardigans, slip-over sweaters, button-up and pull-over tees in various colors (largely subdued), along with an assortment of shorts, slacks, and skirts (knee-length and floor-length, she's not a huge fan of short skirts) and a pair of jeans or three. She doesn't make it a habit to wear jewelry, but her quaint selection isn't very gaudy; it mostly consists of simple stud earrings and necklaces/bracelets, a fair number of the pieces having some 'mystical' or 'spiritual' look to them. A common staple that she loves to pull out is a pair of earrings shaped like barn owls.
appearance - Ella is very open and languid in her movements, at times giving off a very "waking dream" sort of aura as she seems to flow from one task to the next. Her tone of voice, when not simply relaxed, has a chipper quality to it that makes her seem quite approachable. She has sort of a subdued devil-may-care kind of attitude, much preferring to just go with the flow of daily life, and this extends at least partly to her style of teaching, as she likes to hit high-points and encourage her students to explore and test themselves for their individual limits and potential growth. Which isn't to say that she won't provide further help if it's required; there are a number of subjects that Ella could talk about for virtually hours on end, if only you'd ask her.
Outside of class-time she's mostly left to herself, and that isn't something that altogether bothers her too much - again, devil-may-care. Likely the reason is because of her eccentricities and her taste in things one could call weird and creepy, but regardless, most of the time she considers this to be a boon. The more time she has to herself, the more time she has for introspective thought! And the more time she has to spend on thoughts paranormal in nature, but you probably wouldn't be interested in those. One surefire way to put a crack in her dream-like state is to poke fun at her extra-curricular interests; she's used to off-hand jokes and dismissals, but pointed skepticism will eventually get her to clam up and leave. - Things Ella Enjoys

- Ella's Positive Traits
- Very accepting and encouraging
- A down-to-earth attitude, despite some of her weirder interests
- Attentive listener
- Ella's Negative Traits
- Can be exceptionally gullible at times
- Often unaware of how her actions and thoughts might make others feel uncomfortable
- It’s very hard for Ella to look at and/or attempt to change her pre-conceived notions
- Other Tidbits
- Ella has a small menagerie of pets in her condo; a black cat named Tabitha Jane, an East African Wood owl named Epouvantail, and a black-and-white spotted teacup pig named Willamette.
- Somewhat related to her interest in costuming and makeup, Ella has an eye for charcoal drawing; most of her pieces are sort-of abstract things that revolve around (a) cryptid(s) or something similarly alien in concept, and they're not exactly great, but they're useful to help her wind down at the end of the day.
- Ella does have an ancillary interest in gymnastics; she still keeps up with aerobics, but she really fell out of practicing gymnastics at one point or another in her education. Also her idea of “fun dancing” is low-key, low-energy movements, so people looking to connect with her on that interest might not be getting what they expect.
personality - History: From the very start of her life, Ella considered herself part of show business. Her father, Cyril, made his living helping with the upkeep of things behind-the-scenes of productions from set design to effects, and her mother Félicie (who had previously spent time in the spotlight as an actress of some fame) transitioned into costume design at large to keep her love for the art somewhat ‘fresh’. From the first moment that she could remember not having a babysitter, she could recall spending time on the sets that her parents frequented, quickly being exposed to the tireless work that people did for a comparatively small payoff - and before she could think anything else of it, she was totally and completely hooked.
At first, all Ella could do was watch and ask the odd question - she was a child, after all, but the people on set and her parents were nice enough to entertain her curiosities about their work. The knowledge she picked up was eclectic on the whole; lighting techniques, jigsaw cut joints, color palettes, breath control, projection...slowly and slowly her interest in the art of theater grew, until she was a young girl in school who adamantly decided what she would make her career.
What followed were several years of intense study as she poured herself completely into her schooling, much to the approval of her parents, before she was accepted at a prestigious acting school in France. While she wasn’t exactly the best student, she was in the top of her class, and those who knew her would be hard-pressed to think of someone who put in more work than she did in her lessons. After graduation she stuck around as an alumni and assistant instructor, happy to pass on what knowledge she’d accrued, until she was made aware of an opening at a rather unique school in Japan... - Family/Relatives
