There is a long pause as Shiraishi-san stares at her hand. She seems lost in thought, as if she's unsure if she wishes to continue with their interaction. Shiori waits patiently, not trying to force the issue. If the other girl rejects her offer of help, she's not going to be hurt about it. They've only just met, after all. Besides, she's dealt with much worse things than rejection of assistance from a near stranger. Worst case scenario, they separate here and only see each other in passing. Most encounters are only meant to be brief ones, after all. And this could be the case for this one.
Just as the thought that perhaps her help is not wanted or needed after all, the moment of hesitation passes and Shiraishi-san accepts Shiori's outstretched hand. Grinning cheerfully, she firmly grips the other girl's hand and easily helps her up.
"Up ya go!" she exclaims as she straightens up from her slight lean. Turning to face the exit, she places her hands on her hips and stretches her back out slightly while rocking her neck back and forth. It feels good to move and soon enough they'll be outside and in the chill.
At Shiraishi-san's thanks, Shirori glances behind her to her companion.

"It's all good. You seem a decent sort. If a bit accident prone." At this she gives a teasing wink. "But yeah, sure. We can chat later. But only after you've gotten some rest."
Returning her attention to the exit, Shiori steps forward, grasps the metal door handle and pulls it open. A gust of cold wind pushes it's way into the warmer locker room. Nodding towards the orange-red glow that mostly obscures the glass doors, she looks back at Shiraishi-san and speaks.
"It's pretty chilly, so brace yourself. I'll be here if you start feeling unsteady again." Her tone is light and friendly, as if they'd just spent the last few moments having a nice chat. She doesn't seem to be in the least bit upset or unhappy.

"The dorms await. Lead the way, navigator."

It takes some time, with a few rest stops, but they eventually make it to the dorms. Shiori pays acute attention to the way there. With her fairly decent navigation skills she feels pretty confident that she'll be able to find her way back on her own. By this time the sun has set below the horizon, the last of it's lurid glow dying away even as they enter the building. There are no other students in sight.
The heat of the place is a relief. Despite being well acquainted with the cold, Shiori isn't one to linger longer in it than necessary. Holding the door open for her companion, she shuts it quickly once the both of them are inside.
Shaking herself roughly, she tosses a grin over at the other girl.
"Brrrr! Once that sun went down, the temperature sure dropped! Glad we made it before it got much darker or colder."
Reaching forward with her right hand, she holds it out to Shiraishi-san.
"Thank you for showing me the way!"
Dark greens gleaming in the florescent light of the ground floor common room, Shiroi smiles confidently at her companion.
Waiting for her reply.
