No, listen, I swear it's not just noise. Yeah I know it's a little wild, but that's speedcore! ... No, it's not dubstep. Hamasaki, Yuu fifteen · Female · Japanese · Music Hair: It's difficult to pin down any singular color when attempting to describe the majority of Yuu's hair, with her deciding to dye it whatever shade comes to mind when the urge strikes - blonde is the most frequent. Its texture, however, is soft and smooth, easily pulled and styled into whatever shapes she desires for the day's aesthetic. Generally speaking, however, she keeps it styled into twin buns and braids, a rather unique look. Eyes: Sharp and attentive, Yuu's emerald eyes are one of the features apart from her hair that are most likely to attract the most attention. Face: Youthful, even for her age. It would be difficult to take Yuu seriously in most contexts with her childlike features. Body: Can you say 'Napoleon Complex'? Standing at 144cm (roughly 4 foot 9), Yuu is a particularly short individual, with a small and seemingly frail body to match. While she's certainly no waif, she won't be winning any awards or really filling out her clothes anytime soon. Clothing: Apart from her uniform - of which she chose to wear pants with, Yuu switches randomly between dressing like she woke up and really needed to be somewhere in a hurry - in other words, throwing clothes into the air and leaving in whatever manages to land on her body, and dressing like the star she aspires to one day become. Flashy outfits with all sorts of shiny bits and colors. appearance General: Though mentioned prior, it bears expounding upon here. Yuu has a serious Napoleon Complex tied up with her height, and the fact that she has to look up at most people. She'll speak loudly and draw attention to herself, shove herself into others' conversations to make new acquaintances and friends, and talk herself up if given even the slightest opportunity. She knows this is obnoxious as all hell and she hates it. She wishes she could control these urges and habits, but every time she makes an effort to do so she ends up rebounding far worse than ever before. It's a cycle she sees no way out of. Despite the obnoxious behavior she tends to default to, Yuu is an otherwise very friendly person that values friendship and personal relations over most other things. She wants friends, she wants to be liked. That desire is what sits at the root of most of the things she does. Somewhat on that topic, asking Yuu anything about love and matters of the heart is a good way to see her normally chatty behavior pattern melt into a quieter, more considerate state. She takes those sorts of things very seriously despite having never been in a relationship of her own, and is quite eager to offer up (bad) advice to anyone that asks for her opinions. Granted, they are the opinions of someone unexperienced, and should be taken with a grain of salt. Things Yuu Enjoys The pounding, fast drums of a good EDM track. Anime, but don't tell anybody! She's a pretty hardcore otaku and would prefer to keep that on the DL. Rhythm games. The quick pace of the Taiko no Tatsujin series in particular gets her all sorts of pumped up. Hot sauce. On everything. Literally everything. Is it already hot? Doesn't matter, add hot sauce. Is it sweet? Hot sauce. Things Yuu Hates Silence. She can't stand it, gets her antsy. Attention being drawn to her height, specifically. Spiders. Birds. Snakes. Dogs. Cats. It's honestly easier to ask what animals she isn't afraid of. Yuu's Habits Left idle for too long, Yuu has a tendency to begin making drum noises with her mouth and forget where she is. Allowed to continue, this generally intensifies until she is made aware of her surroundings and grows embarrassed. Bouncing her shoulders. It just kind of happens from time to time without her being fully aware of it, as though she's dancing to something. Staring (somewhat angrily) into empty space. This one's a bit more rare, but it usually comes about as an aftereffect of something getting to her just a bit too much. Well, forget that, you're about to get schooled on the differences between types of EDM. Really, really needs friends. Doesn't really get the difference between straight and not. Love is love for her. personality History: From a very young age, Yuu had a large exposure to music. Her mother and father were both musicians in their own right - one relying more on electronics and synthesizers and the other preferring traditional instruments and other things of that sort. She learned early how to play different intruments and how to work with a synth, but her parents made a point for her to know that, despite her learning and their occupations, she had no obligation to do the same. In that sense, they were good parents. They wanted her to be happy. In virtually every other sense, they were terrible. Yuu was often left with a family friend and, as she grew old enough, completely on her own while her parents took off across Japan to attend various events and keep up their images as low-level celebrities. Yuu had to learn how to do a lot of things around the house on her own in order to survive, and there were definitely a few stretches of time when she thought she wouldn't be able to make it, but time has shown that she could handle their neglect, for better or worse. She grew up into a very self-sufficient young girl with a penchant for creation, throwing together sounds and tunes others may refer to as harsh, but to her, it's all wonderful music. Yuu shared these tunes with anyone that would take them, eventually starting to put together little albums and sell them at events. She could even be found at Comiket under her one-person circle, Dead Beat, every so often. That being said, she felt like she would stagnate in her skill if she didn't find some way to learn more about music, and deepen her understanding of its inner workings. Her application and acceptance to Fukui followed shortly after, and thus begins her first year.
