While not exactly the pristine white sands and crashing crystal-blue waves of the beach, in Megumi's mind the forested surroundings of Hosagai park was a close second.
It was nearing dusk as she approached a particularly landscaped section of the park containing one of the more character-filled wooden bridges she had seen in the area. A slight breeze ruffled the loose-fitting elbow-length sleeves of her top, distracting her for only a moment. Kneeling down before the bridge, Megumi readied her camera and adjusted the lens. Several clicks signified that the images were captured and she moved on to stand on the actual bridge. On the horizon the sun was dipping dangerously low to the edge, a small spark of light before the dark.
"Hmm, maybe too dark..." she thought out loud, gazing upwards to notice that a particularly dark patch of clouds had rumbled in on her way over here.
Despite this she continued her photographs until satisfied with the shots, tucking her camera in its safe case and swinging the strap over her shoulder. It was a little heavy and awkward but at this point in her schooling she had been used to the item. With a deep sigh she approached one of the benches while ignoring the fact that it had become dark enough for the park lights to flicker on. The night and dark had never truly made her nervous, unless there was a mirror involved of course. Megumi dipped her head back, placing her left wrist by her ear. The reassuring tick tick of her watch echoed in her ear and she closed her eyes; the park was surprisingly quiet tonight.
Tomorrow would be a difficult day.
