Sometimes when the day was too hot and too many people were crowding the hallways, Nana decided it would be better to spend her free time at the library where she could get a little more of peace and quiet. There weren't so many girls, only those who aimed for the same thing as Nana, and the others were probably doing what you were supposed to be doing at the library anyways: studying. On days like this one, she would sneak some snacks in her bag. Cookies and small pastries her roommate Misha cooked sometimes. Her favorites were the ones with strawberry jam on top, and she would make sure those weren't missing. And even though eating at the library was prohibited, Nana just couldn't help but have her favorite snack, it reminded her of the sunny days in Italy, where she would lay on the grass while eating pastries and drinking cold tea. She sat at the back of the library, making sure no one was there as well. She opened the closest window, the breeze coming in and making the air less dense. There were some cooking books laying around, so while munching on the pastries she took one and opened it, carefully so the strawberry jam wouldn't damage any of the pages. She eyed every recipe, wondering how people could make such delicious food. Nana wasn't very talented at cooking herself, so she always admired chefs and patissieres. Back in Italy she had the chance to meet many chefs, ones that were friends of the family and other who worked at her home. Always fond of them, she would watch them cook and ask them questions about their cuisines. A feeling of nostalgia struck her, a sigh escaped her lips as she read a particular recipe. "Wah... I remember these." She whispered, eyes sparkling as she remembered her beloved macaroons. "These were so good... I really miss them." She couldn't help but let out a small whimper, as she finished reading the book, and without hesitation, grabbed the next one and started reading it. This was going to be a long morning of sweet reading. words: 360 tag: Riko Minami Can’t ᴛᴀʟᴋ about it, but I can put it in a 𝓈𝑜𝓃𝑔– Maybe no one will 𝚐𝚎𝚝 𝚒𝚝, but at least they’ll sing along |
