The sky above is An endless sapphire blue Its color inviting me there Sora Nakai Sixteen · Japanese · Culinary Arts - Hair: Sora’s hair is a light brown that, when left down, falls to about her shoulder blades. Usually though, it’s kept up in some way, either twintails, a simple ponytail, or a bun. Her bangs are a little less neat, but are short enough to not get in her eyes.
- Eyes: Honey brown, in the right light look almost like they’ve got a tint of yellow in them.
- Face: To her chagrin, Sora has a bad case of babyface – It’s not uncommon for people to think her 14 year old brother is older than her. Her face is still clearly feminine, something she likes to accentuate (and hopefully alleviate the babyface) with a little bit of makeup. Her features are on the softer side. She’s also on the fairer side – clearly not a shut in, but not particularly tanned
- Body: Sora stands about average height, about 5 feet 5 and a half inches (though she’ll tell you she’s 5’6”). Her babyface isn’t helped by her somewhat lanky figure. She’s not completely boyish looking, but her build is not the most overtly feminine.
- Clothing: Sora’s no fashionista, but she does try to keep herself looking good. Her wardrobe tends towards the feminine, though she’ll usually take capris or shorts over skirts when given the option. More cardigans and jackets than hoodies in the winter, and in the summer, she’ll spring for sundresses when she’s got the chance.
appearance - General: Sora is very friendly and a very social person, always happy to meet new people and make new friends. She’s personable and can be quite the talker, about anything and everything. This does of course mean that she can be a bit of a gossip and is not the best person to tell your secrets to, since there’s a non-zero chance she’ll forget she’s not supposed to tell anyone, and it’ll come out in conversation with someone else. It’s not something intentional, she can just be a bit careless with the things people tell her.
At her core Sora is much more of a doer than a thinker, and as a result, will often procrastinate and not want to deal with some of her more academic courses compared to her culinary ones. This does also extend to the rest of her life, as while as much as she is inclined to talk, she’s often even more inclined to multitask, and get something done while she’s having a conversation. This is especially true with her cooking. Honestly having people around while she’s cooking, whether they’re cooking on their own, working with her, or just sitting and watching makes the whole experience much more enjoyable for her – and she’ll often be chatting away while she works. Of course, that she much prefers hands-on work and doesn’t do as well with more abstract work does leave her with a tendency to not think too much about the future. She thinks a lot more about what she’s doing now, and not so much about consequences or the long term. She’s more focused on enjoying the moment than worrying about things that might not happen, which can also play into her tendency to be a little careless with her own things as well as others. Despite her occasional carelessness with people and work, Sora does truly care about her friends and will drop just about everything if they need her. She tends to be somewhat casually physically affectionate with people she’s close with, leaning against them at a table or grabbing their hand to pull them off to some new thing. While she’s more inclined to play mediator or peacemaker, if it comes to it, she’ll defend her friends, no questions asked. - Things Sora Enjoys

- Sora is something of hobbyist photographer, though she’ll probably offend dedicated photographers by mostly using her phone’s camera.
- Despite the fact that it's all about cooking, Sora despises the movie Ratatouille because the main character is a rat, and she cannot stand rodents.
personality - History: Born and raised in Kyoto, Sora is the oldest of three children. She grew up in a solidly middle class household with both parents working, her father in a downtown office and her mother at a local tourism agency. Neither parent was particularly well versed in the kitchen, being primarily able to make the staples and a few family favorites. Despite the lack of family investment in cooking, Sora was always drawn in and helped her parents prepare meals, and actually enjoyed doing so, unlike the rest of the family.
By the time she was in the middle of elementary school, she was able to start doing more in the kitchen than just handing her parents things and started learning the basics. It was around this same time, when she was 8 years old that she met Amaya Kawahashi. A new seating arrangement in class put the two girls next to each other, and they quickly became friends, bonding over among other things, a shared interest in cooking. As it turned out, her new friend was from a family of chefs, and while it took some begging of both her own parents and Amaya's, she did get approval to learn from Amaya's older sister alongside her best friend. Now apprenticed under Amaya's older sister Yuki, Sora picked up far more about cooking in a few months than she had in several years in her family's kitchen. The best part of the whole thing was that Sora could be cooking right along side her best friend - though said friend could get scarily focused in the kitchen. When they weren't learning the trade, and especially on free days, Sora would take Amaya exploring across Kyoto, taking advantage of what she knew of the city from her mother's work. If they weren't exploring or cooking, well you'd probably find them having fun with Karaoke. Over the next several years things went much the same, though Sora steadily learned not to talk about cooking with Amaya outside their lessons. It took a bit, but Sora realized that Amaya might want to keep that out of her school life, especially since Amaya's family was well known for being chefs. As the time for high school applications approached, Sora sat down with her parents and declared that she wanted to go to the same renowned culinary school in Osaka that her mentor, Yuki Kawahashi, had attended. While her parents were supportive, they did suggest she look into and apply to other schools as well. With their help, she found Fukui and decided to apply there as well. Of course, she shared all of this with her best friend and told Amaya that no matter what, they'd stay together. Fukui might have been her second choice, but really, that was only because her mentor hadn't gone there. So when she got into Fukui but not Osaka, it was still one of her proudest moments, made all the better by the fact that Amaya had the same result. Sora's first year at Fukui was not quite what she expected. The culinary coursework was everything she'd dreamed it would be, but not so for the rest of the experience. For starters, she and Amaya hadn't been roommates like they'd thought they'd be. It wasn't the end of the world, they were still able to spend plenty of time together, but still. The other thing was that many of her culinary classmates were scared of Amaya. Sure, Amaya could get intense as heck in the kitchen, but really she was a sweetheart and Sora couldn't see why their classmates couldn't see it. Another thing that was really confusing her was that despite the fact that they were in a place filled with other people who loved to cook, Amaya wanted even less to talk about cooking with her or their classmates. Sora tried her best to bridge the gap between Amaya and their fellow culinary majors, but didn't have much success. Now starting her second year at Fukui, Sora is sincerely hoping that her best friend's reticence to talk about cooking was just homesickness and adjusting to the new environment, and that things will be smoother this year. - Family/Relatives

Her thoughts about her future romantic life are similarly vague and unplanned.
