But she did look back, And I love her for that, Because it was so human
Rumiko Ozawa Seventeen · ♀ · Japanese · Student「RADIO PERFORMER」 - Hair: Her hair, --naturally brazenly blonde-- dyed a robin egg blue with powdery highlights to bring a lighter touch to her scalp. Bangs dipping down over eyes to tangle amongst lashes, thick and black, casting shadow across pallid pool, often pulled back. She styles it depending on her mood--whether its up-up-up or just free to relax however it wants. It tends to curl when it gets wet and she doesn't blow dry it dry-dry-dry afterwards; but otherwise it typically lies fairly straight-- unless she braids it with a few flips and waves here and there. The luminous, concentrated, sky blue on her head has a rather airy-feeling when you run your fingers through it, and probably the most well-kept part of her whole body.
- Eyes: Despite her well-managed appearance there isn’t anything vaguely distinct about Rumiko that can’t been seen by the human eye. And speaking of eyes, that is, perhaps, the most remarkable trait she has—the wedged compass shape of her iris. Amethyst. Sugilite. Such an odd colour. It exists only on the most foreign of species: tropical flowers, indigo feathers of ravens. Truly alluring in their richness and hue, drawing eye explicitly due to their sparse kin, her eyes. This feature of her is something genetically passed on from her father, grandmother and basically the main bloodline of her maternal family. And she was, to say the least, the only one of her siblings to have such eye alteration. Outlandish visionaries which carry a vivid pair of imperial chalcedony, can be soft and half-lidded in calm interest or staring a clean hole right through you. Since they are quite broaden it often catches people a little off guard with how exotic they can intensify in the light.
- Face: She's got a rather nice jawline for someone her size and age, her cheekbones are high, making her face thin and rather nice. She definitely doesn't go jogging or play many sports judging by her pale skin, which is anywhere from "Ivory" to "Pasty" depending on who you ask. Make-up, yes. She's just gotten into makeup only recently as she passed the offer to use it throughout her freshman year (horribly regrets). Mainly foundation as it carries primer, concealer, and winged eyeliner which also is used to assist her lashes.
- Body: First of all, she is an inch or two shorter than your average seventeen year old. In fact, at a scrawny-measely-stupidly-short 5'2 she's pretty tiny; especially for a teen. Thin, slender, and svelte, she’s a willow in the wind, threatened to topple over at slightest breeze. Keeping her weight from surpassing 91lbs, she must have a black hole for a stomach since she barely seems to gain weight despite her being the a candy pants during class hours. Her overall body structure is ectomorphic—meaning she has a small, delicate frame and is very thin. Rumiko's frame is among other things, eye-catching. Many tend to say she's a walking statue made of hard plains and sleek grace with a hint of street based taste. Compliments are too cynical where she's from. Occasionally receives unappetizingly, bitter comments from her scholarly exterior and petite height. While not overly obvious she is constructed of lean muscle and practiced strength over the years of foolhardy competitions. The musculature of this foreign creature is compact, subtle beneath pale cream of skin, Japanese cotton, smooth and silken to the touch. A raven in a flock of doves.
- Clothing:
- School Uniform. Rumiko is usually never seen without a uniform. If she is in school, she wears Fukui’s uniform for junior year students. Her black overalls, purple grey shirt with rolled sleeves and a red necktie that hangs loosely. If she isn’t attending school, however, she still wears a wrinkled school uniform—black overalls along with a purple-grey shirt with scrunched up edges to give a frill type look by sewing inside a thin thread and a red ribbon that is slightly different from the most neckties although stands out it serves as an identification tag as what school the student came from. People often surmised that Rumiko was suffering some separation anxiety from her previous school and wearing her old ribbon serves as a security blanket. Truth be told, she’s actually more comfortable than wearing the default necktie, besides she's ill-experienced with knotting the school's necktie properly and successfully.
- Street Clothes. When the bonds of education break loose, Rumiko is much more diverse in her choice of clothing. For the most part, it changes from day to day, colours, fabrics and accessories morphing according to the great cycle that is her mood. Large, oversized sweaters seem to be a wardrobe favourite, left to cover a much lighter shirt beneath. Faded graphic tees and black jeans or shorts. Pants usually are more form fitting then loose, with footwear commonly falling into the simple summer sandal style. Bowties or chokers however, are a total must. They dominate her choices, with most other clothing of the day falling in to match whichever sort of fabric wrapped over her neck has caught her eye. Her gold earrings, a gift from a someone special, barely takes them off, either when walking down the street in town, or rushing to her next class. Towards the end of her days, her sleeping garments—something that she wears mostly when she’s not going out.
- Her bag carries a CD, DSi, flash drive, launchpad, miniature photo album, and a macbook pro ready to take up any muse whenever inspiration strikes. If not expected sight to be seen with her at all moments of her life.
appearence - General:Rumiko is the type of lass who has to get used to you before she remembers your name and have her spit up a few words. It's not that she doesn't like you, it's simply the fact that her memory is short-term.
A picturesque lass, always having a sweet and unreadable smile imprinted on her face. Speaking in such a soft and alluring tone but her words may come sharp and piercing. Although she has that aura of superiority, she knows when to show gratitude when someone has done a favor for her (even though she dislikes it). She knows when to be kind—but she also knows when to show no mercy. This changes, however, when the matter is about close relationships as she can be quite possessive and over-protective about her treasures. To her, they are the most important possession she has.
Rumiko can be described as a classic example of an extrovert; she thrives in social situations and isn’t very shy at all. She is most bored when she’s on her own, and prefers the company of others. Generally bright and fun, she is easy to smiles and easy to laughter, always a mood maker amongst the crowd and ready to lead those around him about by the nose with her overpowering personality. A junior with a rather sunny personality, she has boundless energy and enthusiasm. She just 'loves' being around people and is a very easy individual to make friends with and is also quick to approach whoever she deems interesting and starts a conversation. As an open-minded person with tons of confidence, she's never one to shy when it comes to express herself and is never afraid to try new things.
A quick-decision maker, she surprisingly likes to take risks and often chooses daring methods for the sake of a fun challenge. Having sharper instinct causes her to rely on it more than he relies on his brain which is proven to be much more...accurate. When speaking, she prefers getting straight to the point instead beating around the bush. She likes to keep the conversation going but tends to dominate the conversation within the process, mostly doing all the talk without letting the other finish, somehow forcing them to listen to her endless blabbering. Although her acquaintances might not realize, he always aims to be at the top.
Known for her laid-back approach to life. A straightforward, rough, and risky attitude may give off a wild type vibe. Overall, he feels the need to fit into a stereotype, so she does her best to act the part of a jolly lass, who in reality is pretty cocky and arrogant. That carefree spirit who does whatever she likes, whenever she feels like it almost like a free person. Dislikes being restricted, as cunning as a vixen they say, but she is good with words and very often finds 101 ways to get herself what she wants or out of the situation. A student who lies with a straight face. Lying comes naturally to her, so its difficult to know if she is telling the truth or not. She can be honest, its just hard to tell when she is being honest. Finally, for the main course, enjoys hearing good praises or sometimes rumors involving her, feels proud. However, equipped with a rather weakness of childish humor that has her void through awkward sentences, Rumiko is prone to have her moments when she's almost emotionally withdrawn, breaking the illusion that she tries so hard to keep up.
She tries to seem optimistic and very inviting, but in reality she has abandonment issues. She still holds on to that incredibly distrusting trait, but if she takes a liking to a person, she'll make the effort to get to know them better. Her loyalty is very difficult to come by.
Though she does her best to keep herself from getting too clingy, when she gets attached, she finds it harder and harder to do; sometimes she accidentally slips her true self out. Rumiko is rather one rowdy, athletic, and boisterous young lass with a penchant for mischief, promiscuity, and perversion.
She is imprisoned for so long in a jester suit that she hardly remembers what she really is anymore. In truth, she can be dishonest, and rather selfish when it comes to important matters. In front of strangers, Rumiko tends to say what she thinks others would like to hear, rather than vocalize her own thoughts; the consequences of speaking one's mind have tripped her up one too many times, so she prefers to play it safe and keep her true thoughts hidden, well, for now.
- Things Rumiko Enjoys
- FEISTY TYPES Harsh, angry, grumpy, unlikable people. Loves to be a pest around these folks, tries to kill them with kindness. She's been raised at the estate of one sophisticated man. When he was busy he would have the maids or other staff give her attention. She was never given a 'no' nor disciplined properly. When she meets people who go against her she just idols it as some game. So challenging, how adorable.
- QUIET TYPES They are observant and think the whole time their encase in silence. A limbo of thoughts continuously moving and exiting through their mind. She knew what it was like being quiet and reasons to why they benefit and make you seem conceited. For Rumiko, they are mysterious and beautiful. They are too full of life to be half-loved.
- EDM MUSIC A passion: an intense enthusiasm and barely controlled desire for something. Music, considered fine art, is a concept, a feeling that many the world over tumble to understand, to control. For Rumiko, it is an escape, a dear, long lost friend there to comfort her in times of strife. Music was a thing introduced to her at an early stage and it's considered her treasured gift. She became deaf at the age of five due to an accident. It ruined her but then she met someone at the party of her estate, a DJ who taught her that even though you can't hear music you can feel it. So, she started out with a piano, a sentinel being standing silent in a oversized rooms, ivory keys always open to her muse. By fourteen, she was given her first launchpad, and with it, her true passion. A beautiful yet simple thing, singing out captivating melodies, that sort of make her hight back the negativity in the air. She never goes without it.
- FESTIVALS Good show! She always looks forward to these celebrations. They keep her active for the whole night. Plus, very-very-very colorful. Looking forward to the callous rides, fluffy delicacy, and even the themed games! All new to her and has not aged bit.
- HUMOR Laughably bad movies, bad jokes/puns/etc. Although a weakness to her image, she can't help it. Being deaf wasn't all too pretty. Given rules, regulations, and even limited on the places to go and things to do. Laughing was her first sound and soon enough had processed into speech. Besides it's entertainment for one soul at least.
- A CHALLENGE Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing at all. What is a success, if no trouble arose from its finding? A challenge is the greatest thing to rise before someone. It makes you think, it forces you to see the world through eyes unclouded. It will not wait, it will not give hints to discovery. Rumiko loves a good challenge, something to force him into action. These do not have to be great life affirming moments. They are usually the simplest of things, things that only she would seem to think are important. The proper folding of clothes so that they all might fit into luggage. The decision between blueberry and strawberry jam. Pros? Cons? Why one and not the other? Even at times, finding truth in hidden agent.
- SWEETS Sugar is a beautiful creation. Spun sugar. Melted sugar. Cakes, creams, candies. She has a sweet tooth a mile wide, and surely, given how much she eats of the crap, one would think she’d be much bigger then she is. Or, at least, not so well complexioned. But whatever the case may be, she adores all things sweet, and is usually a good way of lightening any grudge or conflict.
- Things Rumiko Hates
- EXPENSIVE ITEMS Gee, thanks but I can't accept it. Is the type of face you'll receive. She's knows she can't be responsible for it besides they're items that will wear out or break the second they meet her hands. Showing how much money you have won't get her attention at all.
- DECEITFUL PEOPLE Lying and forming half truths will always exist. They’re a part of human nature. Rumiko has lied, she knows this. She knows she will lie again. But theres just something about a person that continuously brings up falsehoods that rubs her the wrong way. To do so with hurtful intentions in mind is even worse in her books.
- OVER-FAMILIARITY It takes some getting use too. You just have to know how to tackle the moments or situations so it's acceptable. Having a skinship with a person who finds you as just an acquaintance is awkward in a way. Besides she'll find you as some stalker is you continuously meddle with her privacy.
- EXPECTATIONS To place down path of life. To stride to achieve goals not your own. To force upon young mind the way one must be, and not what they can be, is a harsh reality. Rumiko has long been forced to play a role not of her own design; the niece of rich family, she was expected to play a certain role. And to do it well. There is nothing she hates worse.
- DEBTS, OWING PEOPLE Being constricted is the last thing she'd like to experience. Avoids owing people as much as possible. She's dependable but to a certain extent.
- BOREDOM Having nothing to do is the worst for Rumiko. A busy body, always seeking out something, anything!, to do, be it playing on his violin or just hanging out with friends. Its not to say that she’s always doing something, cause that would just be tiresome. But to sit around for hours on end bothers her. A reason why one usually finds her day dreaming in class.
- CORPSED BY WORK Nobody likes working too much, but thats how you get through life. You must meet requirements to achieve some expectations, which will lead to a job a nice house maybe even a future with someone. Though when you work too much that your body can't handle it, it's frightening.
[li]Rumiko's Habits - PULLING ON HER HAIR A nervous or flustered tick more then anything, its expected to see her tugging on the ends of her cascade when unsure. Its a habit she’s completely unaware that she is doing at the time, and when pointed out, bewilderment is a common reaction. Her elders says its a unconscious means of punishing oneself, but honestly, what does that even mean?
- LACK OF USING HONOURIFICS Always show respect to your betters; a lesson drilled into her skull from the moment she could coherently examine the world. Always be polite and dutiful, put a good example forward for your family. It drove her crazy, this need to always be prim and proper. So when the moment came that she was brought out from under aunts heel, she revelled in the new found freedom, finding herself rebelling against many of those bone deep expectations; one being the abandonment of honourifics. A rare event that puns such as -san, -sama, or -sempai leave her lips. At most, a teacher gains acknowledgement through their last name.

- Facts
- She is completely deaf in one ear and can only faintly hear in the other. But that hardly refrains her from chasing her dream to be put in the musical industry.
- She's not very educated in speaking large words so she might be speaking poetically to make her point. Rumiko has studied ASL and happily enjoys using that sort of communication rather than talking.
- Her red bow has a caution symbol that acts as a pendent. Exchanged bow ties with Mairu right before she was sent away. Uncertain whether Mairu held feelings for Rumiko or not but Rumiko still holds onto to her side of the story that she was betrayed.
- EDM is a form a music that mainly deals with heart-clenching beats or drops. The strong music's pulse has Rumiko 'feel' the music's vibrations.
[/div][/div] personality - History:
(1) Unread Message: "Losing you is unbearably terrifying."
With a name like Rumiko Ozawa, she’d always knew what her parents expected of her. She was going to be their little musical prodigy. Her hair would always be laced in their talons, and the instrument would never leave her hands. And, while in some aspects she did deliver, it wasn’t what she was meant to do. Music came naturally to her, partnered with tuneful noises. Writing music, playing music, it was all her parents had ever dreamed of. Mistress Rumiko comes from the urban part of Japan, located in east-central part of the country. The second youngest of three daughters, born to a widely-known conductor and a mysterious woman hailing from the Caribbean Islands. They were Hotaru and Masato Kimura, two major names amongst Hokkaido, Japan and international theatrical circles.
Her mother was a songstress and dedicated her life to putting on a show that would be a talk amongst all conversations. As a singer she brought audiences to their feet and choked them of the correct words to explain their appreciation. While dad was a conductor, controlling music to please himself more than those around him. As their only 'right' offspring, Rumiko too was known throughout the same circles, doted upon by the crew when she was brought into the theatres and rehearsal spaces. Rumiko has spent most of her life in dusty theatres, sitting to the side of dressing rooms, directors tables and stages. She knew every room and area from the back alley to where every secret trap-door led to. She overheard conversations and arguments between some of Japan’s finest actors and playwrights, and as a girl she’d sit atop dressing room tables as classical actresses put on their makeup and vented to her about their unfaithful husbands.
Well, she never believed their gibberish. Though, if she did, would she still have her parents? Her mother had fallen into a depression when she found out that her husband was seeking out a different damsel behind her back. Thus, took her own life for it and as for the father, he opted for a different destiny. Rumiko continued to stay at the hospital, since relatives did not bother to mourn for her acts and her sisters were busy at college. The aunt, Yvette Ozawa, disapproving of the orphanage system in the area, took him in. A strict, but calm woman, not refraining from punishing the girl for her misbehavior. From the very beginning she was very active and curious kid, used to getting involved into any kinds of troubles and making sure to go through every possible mistake of her young life. No matter what, she always knew how to deal with her crap and now when Rumiko is old enough to appreciate it, she respects the woman for that.
The only saving grace Rumiko ever found in that mess was her cousin, Mairu. Older by two years, but wiser by far more – she was graced with the name of the fallen, and with a mischievous streak that would have put even Rumiko to shame. She only smirked and followed with eyes lit with unholy fire in her cousin’s antics. Because of Mairu, her childhood was being relatively happy, and free to enjoy her comical state. From an early age Rumiko was extremely fascinated by everything. Music, books, films, technology—but most importantly she loved having a family. She wasn’t allowed to consume much social media but when she attended her first school without a tutor Rumiko never followed the family’s rules and values, coming home more educated and opinionated than the year before. It was her only way to rebel against the family values and distanced herself as much as possible from the family’s meanings.
Of course when Rumiko arrived to the U.S. by no means was the community pleased with the news. The so-called scrawny, sarcastic, ditz was a girl raised by morons, showed no signs of being an exceptional daughter and was far from suitable to being a heir to the aunt's fortune. Soon, the jealousy was passed to their children. They joyed when she became deaf. All because of a simple game of catch did Rumiko receive the message. The ball, thrown too far but she moved forward and in the end was caught up in a car accident.
Ouch. A single word setting fire to her mind, as it was the first quote to be spoken through teeth. While the droplets of tapwater mixed with her expression reeking of being exposed to their vengeful eyes. Being pushed aside with a swollen glimpse of being outnumbered. Her arrival, that awaited celebration, was all a lie. As if they were hunting her for sport, she'd face punishment for being born with a label. It was her first day at school with bandaged ears. She drew the line with an action, striking the closest one and slipped out, her coward’s blood burning and warming her skin as the cold air blessed her escape. She did not stop to bid her classmates farewell – they had just lost the next victim, she never was meant to take this. She traveled back to the house but on her way she met, Mairu. She knew what she'd faced. And, it was time for the two misfits to show how much suffer they've received.
To receive respect was her duty, as if every drop of blood were to make her learn the value of a dollar. Lost and alone in a world she’d never been to, without the promise of her divinity to give her the confidence she’d never known she’d relied on, Rumiko was an easy target for the underbelly of the city. Uppers, downers, liquor, and paragon – it all went the same place, made her feel the same, and life wasn’t perfect. To prove her own survival, her continuation, she'd raid the neighboring property along with her cousin, hot-wire junk cars and take them to burn-outs, participate in foolhardy competitions till flesh would break, skip rocks on rooftops till day would burn their view clean. Heaven wasn't looking for recruits, better to take hell for what it was than to aspire to what she would never know.
To have some connection with Mairu was miraculous. Do you ever just crave someone’s presence? Like you would literally be happy just sitting next to them and when you haven't seen them all day, up until now, you actually missed the space between their eyelids and wonder where stand beside someone? However, she could not tell. She looked for the exact love that she wanted from her when in the arms of others.
Now, her disturbance to the community made her untouchable at school but at home she'd find her aunt too busy being drowned in work to make up for her daughter's crimes, she was guilty on the run, and she couldn't keep up anymore. It was time to put an end to this firebrand, she just didn't know where to start. So, it remained unfixable long enough. Thankfully, on her 15th birthday, she was sent away to Fukui Academy. It was like an escape and…Mairu couldn’t have sent her off fast enough. Betrayal. What an odd feeling to face. - Family/Relatives
