I’d break the law once every week to feel your touch. What’s a book to you in bed? Caia Ocampo Seventeen · Female · Somali/Filipino · Student (Music) - Hair: Short, thick, naturally dark hair. Usually kept cropped in a short boy cut. Tends to fall over her right eye the way it is kept normally.
- Eyes: Sharp, slightly downturned, slightly wide-set, dark brown eyes.
- Face: Her face is neither a perfect definition of feminine nor masculine. Heart-shaped with a thin, slightly upturned nose, wide lips, and a soft jawline. Her skin is light brown due to her heritage.
- Body: Caia is fairly tall for her age, standing at around 180 cm. 53 kg. Her body type is quite boyish and lean, but fortunately her breast size is close enough to average to give her gender away in certain clothing.
- Clothing: In school, Caia sticks to wearing the assigned uniform, choosing to wear pants over skirts regularly, but occasionally will opt for a skirt if the weather is hot enough. Despite her boyish appearance, she’s not against wearing skirts and does so occasionally outside of school regardless of the weather. Her style, even if she does wear skirts, still isn’t the most feminine. She enjoys showing off her slender legs, but only does so by wearing shorts and skirts. There are no dresses in her wardrobe. Normally, her attire consists of a hoodie, t-shirt, or tank of some sort paired with her choice of bottoms, and usually sneakers or boots. No frills, rarely any pastel colors, and no heels.
appearance - General: Caia is a very coolheaded, relaxed individual, and is very easy to get along with if you’re willing to ignore her somewhat hard exterior to approach her. It’s not likely that she’ll approach someone, but she’s not shy at all. She’s very independent and mature for her age, although she does have her moments of turning to childishness or neediness. Caia’s respect for authority figures is unwavering, but she’s likely to snap at her seniors if she feels like she’s being treated unfairly. She’s assertive enough to demand respect.
Upon approaching her, she may come off as boring or cold at first and may even be a bit standoffish, but she’s quick to become chummy with people if there’s no obvious bad intentions. She can also be quite goofy once you get to know her. Although Caia doesn’t have any younger siblings, she has a habit of taking care of those around her, especially girls. She’s very generous with her time.
Academically, Caia would rank somewhere in the top 10% of her grade, but she's not necessarily a hard worker. If anything, she doesn't really care for being the top of her class and doesn't stress out if her grades slip. Even though her parents are both instructors at universities, they always made sure that she knew her grades didn't measure her value.
When it comes to friends, and even strangers sometimes, Caia is definitely a touch-feely type. Being an only child, and part of a big family from a close-knit neighborhood, she has always been very comfortable with physical contact with the people around her. It isn't unusual to find her draped around a friend or family member. This comfort also comes with a somewhat inappropriate sense of humor.
Since Caia is very hard to anger or upset, she has virtually no enemies. People are more likely to be labeled strangers to her than enemies since she would much rather cut all ties to someone than entertain any petty drama. It is also very unlikely that Caia will raise her voice unless screaming in karaoke or someone's safety is at risk. If she does ever get angry, her voice remains at a low volume but becomes more stern.
As far as romance goes, there have been girls that she’s liked, but she’s never felt strongly enough about them to confess. She’s quite the flirt and loves to tease, whether she would consider a girl her type or not, and whether the girl is straight or an adult. There’s no such thing as a bad time to show your charm after all. She tries to respect boundaries to the best of her abilities though. - Things Caia Enjoys

personality - History: Caia was born in Manila, Philippines to a young, unmarried couple. Her father was a native of the Philippines, finishing up his Fine Arts degree and her mother was an international student studying abroad. Since her parents were so busy with education, Caia spent most of her younger years while in the Philippines being taken care of by her father’s large and close-knit family. Because of this, she was socialized well and grew to be very outgoing. Despite being very much in love with her mother, her father wasn’t too interested in marriage as a concept, and her mother was just happy to be with the one she loved and have a healthy baby girl. However, after finishing up their degrees, her father’s family pressured him to marry, citing the importance of taking care of his new family as a good reason. Shortly after the marriage, her father was offered a job as an instructor at an art school in Shiga, Japan, so the family packed up and moved.
Living in Japan was a big change for Caia, and the move came with quite a bit of struggle. Her father earned enough money to take care of the family, and her mother stayed home to take care of her, but while they lived comfortably, the stress of what seemed like isolation began to wear on the family. Caia’s parents had never been without her father’s big family to help take care of home, and despite their language barrier with the people of Japan decreasing with time, it was hard for the family to build a social life. With the young parents being an interracial couple, and just foreign in general, there was also obvious hesitance from their neighbors to interact at first. Her mother suffered with bouts of depression from time to time.
Things began to pick up a bit once Caia entered primary school. She was eager to socialize with her peers, and fortunately, her parents dedicated plenty of time to teacher her Japanese so her language skills were pretty decent. Caia easily made friends with her classmates, but her obvious physical difference from the people around her and the time she spent in Japan only knowing her parents and pet cat resulted in her being a bit less outgoing than she had been in her younger years. Her mother got a job as an ESL instructor at a nearby university, one different from where her father taught. Caia picked up the violin in her fourth year of primary school when she fell in love with the instrument after attending a concert at the conservatory at the university her father taught. Her connections to the art school through her father made it fairly easy to get music lessons from her father’s coworkers, so her skills were tuned early on. She continued to play regularly throughout her school years and things remained solid throughout primary and lower secondary school. High school started well for Caia. Although many of the people living in her small town had moved away or ended up in different schools, she still knew a few people. Her boyish style had developed and she had started keeping her hair short in middle school. She had known that she was a lesbian at an early age, but never had a girlfriend so she never felt the need to come out to her parents. Her parents had caught on early on their own, casually asking if there were any girls she liked and similar questions. She had also began to learn bass guitar on her own, on top of violin. Needless to say, Caia was a bit popular with some of the girls in her small school, but not a school star or anything. Like with middle school, she had a few girls confess to her but Caia was always hesitant to date. This was partially due to her own insecurities and fears. Her family background was quite different from her peers, and although she was well assimilated into Japanese culture, she felt like it would be difficult to form such a close relationship at a young age with someone who would be so different. She was also quite concerned that he would be met with much conflict from the people in her town if she did come out and start dating one of the girls at her school. Although most people seemed to not care that she was so boyish or that girls were attracted to her, she couldn’t shake the feeling that people would turn out to be not so accepting if she began dating one of their daughters seriously. Additionally, even though it was a small factor, she also couldn’t imagine having to make time for dating between music and other hobbies, like video games, and hanging out with her friends. There were a lot of girls around her after all, and rumors of her dating would start up from time to time, resulting in a bit of drama.
Unfortunately, at the end of Caia’s second year, a pretty graphic rumor had spread about Caia’s relationship with a first year student whom she had been tutoring and giving basic guitar lessons to. Of course, Caia and the girl were only friends, but the more the rumor spread, the more twisted the details became, and the more time passed, the worse things got for her. Eventually, the rumors reached some of the staff and parents in the town, which caused the parents of the girl to stop allowing Caia to visit their home, even when they were present. When word of her being turned away by the parents got out, even more speculation began. Wild rumors of being “caught in the act” and attempting to elope with the girl had spread quickly. It was hard for her to bury the rumors with so much incorrect and bizarre information already floating around, in addition to the fact that the girl refused to deny any of the claims being made, possibly due to a crush on Caia. In an attempt to simply move forward, Caia decided to just let the situation go and let the rumors die down on their own, but was met with some malicious backlash, mostly from some of the parents of her peers. Some had anonymously requested and petitioned for Caia be transferred to another school, stating mostly rumors as reasons for her being a danger to her fellow students, a distraction, etc. The school had not taken these attempts to get her removed serious, but with the way homophobic and racist slurs were being dropped in her presence around town and such, it wasn’t exactly a secret that some people wanted her gone. Caia’s parents encouraged her to stay strong during the drama, but she could tell that they were being troubled by the situation at their jobs too. Around then, Caia began looking into new schools to transfer to with her parents, and that’s when she found Fukui Academy and finalized her decision to transfer. She finished out the school year, mostly keeping to herself until the end. After her second year was complete, her family packed up and moved. - Family/Relatives
