Nothing means more to me than a smile from you... Kurou Tanai SEVENTEEN · FEMALE · JAPANESE · SINGER/SONGWRITER - Hair: Kurou keeps her hair short much like a male would. Not shaven, but cut enough to not get in her way. It's dull pink color is unnaturally dyed from it's original blonde color. She doesn't care much for it's daily upkeep, thus always letting it grow into her face before cutting it again. Its just falls where it may.
- Eyes: Blue sparkling eyes light Kurou's face. They are large and pretty, perhaps one of the only feminine parts about her. She uses her eyes in a lot of her emotions, they're windows to her thoughts.
- Face: Rarely wearing makeup, she can be caught with just a touch of it only for performances or formal events. Perhaps some eyeliner to surround her eyes or foundation to even her complexion, but she would't let anything complicated take away from her natural features.
- Body: This tall girl about 5'9 dependent on shoes, and has a fit lean body type. From her lack of curves or any figure at all it would be tough to tell she was a woman. Her skin is a fair color that easily bruises or turns red at embarrassment, but it compliments her pink hair nicely.
- Clothing: Besides for the school uniform, which she always makes an attempt at modifying, Kurou has a taste for punk rock clothes and anything dark colored. Silvery jewelry and chains often get the best of her money. For performances she loves picking out her own stage wear. Leather pants, vested tops, high boots, anything that makes an impact. At formal events, such as school dances, she would more likely wear a suit or a vest and pants versus a dress. While she doesn't classify as a cross-dresser, but she does have her choices of male clothing.
appearance - General: If you could describe Kurou in one phrase it would be 'not giving a shit'. She's the type who'll put her feet up on someone else's desk in class, take a nap on your couch without being invited in, bluntly point things out, and in turn demand respect. She really could care less what people think of her or what they say about her, and if someone yells at her she'd be happy to yell right back. (Especially teachers, those are her favorite arguments). Such actions of hers have gotten her almost expelled a number of times, yet somehow she'd been able to reason her way out. In her third year she's on a strict probation where any small slip in her behavior could cause actual expulsion. Kurou has yet to decide if she'll abide by the rules this time.
In a romantic encounter this female takes a very dominant roll, craving to be the caretaker and provider for her partner. She is only interested in girls, and more acutely towards ones that gives her a challenge or play 'hard to get'. She's been all over the spectrum with girlfriends. Dating shy ones, outgoing ones, and ones all in between. She lacks looking for a type to keep an open mind. Usually relationships end up being a short fling or a one night stand, but secretly she's always looking for a commitment. - Things Kurou Enjoys

personality - History: Kurou Tanai was born into an upper-class household. Her mother, a very busy business woman, and her father, a very busy salesman, were happily married with many riches from both sides of the family. Her mother owned a company of her own and her father was the head salesman of his company, so their hours were long and sporadic. More often than not Kurou was left with a nanny and then by herself when she was old enough.
In her lonesome time, she would listen to music. It first captured her attention when her Nnanny played classical tunes on their record player. While she loved the sounds of the violins and the trumpets, it was imminent that she would discover favorites of her own. In middle school she started listening to rock bands from all over the word. She couldn't get enough of the guitar and drums in rhythm, and adding her own vocals seemed like the cherry on the top of the cake.
Kurou sang as often as she could; alone, out, with friends, at dances, anywhere. As long as she was free to sing she was happy and content. What surprised people the most was that she was actually quite talented. Her voice was between alto and tenor, much lower than what was expected from a female singer. The roughness and depth of her voice turned heads, and she was able to catch the attention of those not listening when she stepped up to karaoke. Her love of singing was insatiable, and she knew it was what she had to do with the rest of her life.
Things had finally started to fall into place at the end of middle school. The clothes she wore became more of a grunge/rock style and she cut her hair short to dye it pink. Piercings littered her ear and face and she wore that smirk of a smile everywhere. Her parents were immensely embarrassed of what their cute blonde little Kurou grew up to be. They had no idea what could have gone wrong and were swift to blame the nannies. They sent her out when they had house guests or formal parties and hid their interaction with her from the public. She was just a sore to them now, and as much as it should have hurt her... it simply didn't. Not caring was one of her best skills, and it could be used for her family as well.
In attempts to send her away, Kurou's parents offered her as much money as she need to go to a boarding school away from home. Instantly she returned to them with an all-girls academy for the arts, Fukui. They scowled at their failure of a daughter throwing her life away on a hobby and looked at the information she provided. Was it far away? Could she stay all year?Would she not come home? Sold.
And off to Fukui Academy it was.
There she spent two years taking academics (and almost failing), acing her vocal and performance classes, and nearly getting expelled every month or too. It was so hard for her not to bug the teachers. It was just so enjoyable... She dated around, got into some trouble, crashed a few parties, woke up next to hell knows who, and had the best times of her life so far.
In her third year she is on high probation. Any little thing can get her kicked out, and just the thought of having to return home made her shudder. If they would even let her in. But still she hasn't decided if she would follow the rules yet... - Family/Relatives
