Misha made no effort to hide her amused chuckle as she watched Nao blush. Undoubtedly the writer was diving into the realms of imagination in her mind, some vivid image forming based on what Misha had decribed. There was an undescribeable sense of appreciation, like Misha was able to peek behind the curtain of the creative process that was Nao's writing, and at the same time Misha found that overactive imagination somehow endearing. But the smile on the baker's face faded fast, transforming in a concerned frown as Nao talked about being some sort of vanguard of fashion and diviner of zeitgeist. It was a bit of a shock; in no way could Misha imagine Nao in that form, even as some sort of stage persona. And even so, Misha didn't have much of a good opinion of those types of personality. Still, there probably was a better way to tell her girlfriend that. "Of course, Nao-chan. I'm glad you're here by my side." Misha replied softly, leaning in a little to kiss the top of Nao's forehead. It was a natural movement, almost unconscious done as Misha's mind was halfway somewhere else. Once more, Misha took her steps forward, taking each branch in the path that they came across at random, perhaps deciding by which way the wind seemed to push them. Besides the summer breeze, Misha was silent, until she was able to find the right words to speak. "Nao-chan, about what you said earlier. To quote, 'a fancy young woman with a trend setting wardrobe who has her finger on the pulse of romance and sees the truth in every girl's heart'. Is that what you see your professional alter ego as? I would have to caution that it is a bit...over the top and pretentious, off-putting and bound to alienate others. But...I suppose I don't have much to stand on, playing up the mysterious foreign European to advertise the bakery's French and German fare."Misha sighed and shook her head, looking in front of her to get her bearings. Despite the loops they had made through the gardens, they had neared the entrances of the dormitory. With a chuckle to try and change the mood a bit, Misha looked to Nao again. "You know, my cousin's wife taught me a bit of German in order to sing some of those."

Nao chuckled anxiously at the question about her alter ego as an author. Admittedly it was very much overly dramatic, much like some of her earlier works of fiction had been. She really did not want to be that person whether she was herself or appearing officially as Tsubame Suzumi. It was mostly the sort of aura that apparently her works had created among her most ardent fans. Yet as much as she regretted that sort of image, she was infinitely fascinated by the thought of Misha playing herself up as a mysterious European girl selling baked goods and singing in German to attract customers. Perhaps she was biased but Nao could absolutely see how enticing that would be with her girlfriend at the bakery.
"Well actually it's more what my fans seem to think of me as," Nao remarked with amusement, having not noticed that they were close to the dorms just yet. She puffed her cheeks out a bit as she mock pouted, "You sang to customers in German at the bakery? But you've never sung like that for me.. I'm jealous."
Unable to hold that expression very long, she started giggling and rested her head on her girlfriend's arm. She would absolutely love to hear Misha singing in any language, but it wasn't like she could appreciate the lyrics in German. Unless it was Japanese or English she was kind of out of luck. As far as she was concerned, though, she was pretty sure she'd love it no matter what tongue the song was in. Misha's voice was lovely, and that ultimately was the most important part to enjoying the experience. Maybe when they went to visit the other Shirayama family members, Nao could catch a glimpse of that part of her girlfriend. In fact, she suddenly thought of an idea that at least sounded like fun in her imagination.
"Say, Misha-chan.. if we go to visit your family, could you teach me some of those songs? I think it might be fun to surprise them with a duet," Nao asked, clearly bemused by the idea, "I think it would be really nice to do something like that."

This afternoon, Misha had let here sense of wanderlust guide what direction they took, but this time, the baker felt like resting in a cooler place: in her room. And so, with Nao at her side, she continued to head towards the dorms, leaving the gardens behind them. Even if it was just how her fans saw their author, Misha wanted to note that Nao still had some responsibility over it. But that was a topic for later, now it was about the near future "Well, think it's more of a when than an if," Misha replied with an amused smile. "In any case, I'd be happy to teach you, though, I do wonder, how good is your German pronunciation?" The baker glanced over to Nao with a grin before looking ahead again. "Admittedly, when I first did sing those songs, it was done with a clear Russian accent, but here in Japan, how many would notice?" There was a blast of cool air as Misha opened the front door of the dorms, but even as they slowly walked across the atrium, the chef was looking distantly as she rolled through her memories. "Now that I think of it...it's been a long while since I did sing in German." Misha sighed, squeezing Nao's arm. "English? Russian? Sometimes, when I am working on assignments in the classroom kitchen, but even then, it's usually when I am alone." In the middle of the atrium, Misha let go of Nao's arm, shifting to stand in front of her girlfriend, taking each of the writer's hands in her own and smiling, looking right into Nao's eyes. "I suppose then, it's something we both can practice together, right? Well, once I find my old notes from my cousin again. I'd rather not butcher the wonderful language any further."

"Yes, I'd guess a lot of Japanese people probably would just have recognized it as a foreign accent," Nao laughed a bit at her girlfriend's remarks, "I know I'm only just starting to recognize a little bit of the differences in accents."
She was perfectly content to just walk alongside Misha, holding her arm and musing about many things. But they had some things to plan for now, and she was getting pretty excited about studying lyrics together now. Advertising a shop wasn't something that she'd thought she would do.. but wait. No, that wasn't quite right - she had actually done some advertising work before hadn't she? When the Kaneshiro brewery had started expanding into soft drinks. Tiger soda, they called it. And who had been part of the initial, short run of ads for Tiger Soda? One perky little girl who just happened to be part of the brewery's founding family. She didn't recall it lasting very long, just a kind of launchpad for the new brand until they could rope in a popular actress or idol for a partnership.
Misha had confided in her about her childhood work. It didn't feel right to just keep this resurfaced memory to herself, but she wasn't sure now was the time. Not when her girlfriend looked into her eyes and offered that they practice together. A pleased smile crossed her lips as she squeezed her girlfriend's hand in response. After a day so far spent reminiscing about various things, preparing for the future was a nice transition to make. German did sound like a challenge, but she had the best tutor she could ask for to help her get the hang of it.
"I'm looking forward to it," Nao told her, then she laughed a little, "Also.. I have something I need to show you later. You mentioning singing for the bakery reminded me.. I did something similar for a soda my mom's company made. It's embarrassing, but I want to show you.." The brunette stood there for a moment, blushing, before she nodded to the stairs ahead, "Shall we go? Let's get lots of practice with those songs!"
