School Newspaper

So a few of us were talking about the possibility of a school newspaper as an IC club, but also as an OOC kind of thing too--like having a physical, legitimate newspaper. The characters would go around their daily lives in threads and conduct whatever investigations or interviews that they wanted to, and then come back with reports and articles and whatnot about... whatever. We could have a section for Fukui Academy Gossip news, events, an advice column (because no newspaper is complete without those), maybe some ads (like, "come join our band!" or "hey we need people for set design" or "hey cooking class is doing this and needs taste testers" or whatever)?

I think it'd be a lot of fun, and has the potential to add more ~drama~ to the staff and students' lives.  Of course, permission would be gotten from players before their character is included in an article, so there wouldn't be any "hey, I didn't want X about my character broadcast to the school!"

As for the responsibility of actually running the thing, I can definitely help out with it (and make the newspaper pretty--whipping up a template for it probably wouldn't be hard at all).  I can't see it requiring much work, to be honest--just enough people to cover a few articles here and there.  I can see it being an every-other-week thing (weekly would probably be a bit much once the site starts getting really active).  But yeah, I just thought I'd bring it up, 'cause I think it'd be pretty damn fun.

That sounds like a wonderful idea!! I'd love to get this going!!
As for how it's displayed - were you thinking it's own webpage separate from this site? Or just having a board/thread here to host it?

Probably just a board would be fine--Proboards' custom webpages are a pain to sort out, and having the board makes it easier for people to scroll through old issues of the paper too. I'll try and whip up a mock layout of a possible posting template for the paper within the next few days, if not today.

We can change the fonts around and the paper's name, I just kinda threw those in there because I couldn't find anything better to put naming isn't something I'm good at, haha.  We can also change around and add/remove the different columns and rows and whatnot depending on what we have for the paper.
