She needed to incorporate more architecture in her artwork, Eulalie decided. Or, the teacher suggested. Eulalie preferred to paint organic things, such as plants...and uh....more plants. Drawing straight lines just wasn't her thing, but if she really wanted her artwork to improve, she needed to get outside of her comfort zone. And so this was where she was, on the school rooftop, trying to get photos of the school grounds and the nearby town with her cheap camera to use as reference photos in her next project. But getting pictures was proving difficult.
For one, the architecture just wasn't very interesting here. Everyone who'd look at her paintings would know she had taken the pictures on the roof of the school! But this was the tallest building on the grounds, she didn't really have a choice. For another, it was hard to angle the camera just right so it could get a decent shot from between the chain-link fence. But her biggest problem was that Eulalie just kept getting distracted.
Buildings were so boring, but the people walking around the buildings were interesting. After several unsuccessful tries to get photos of buildings, she resorted to people-watching, her eyes following the students walking across the grounds. There really was a colorful bunch of girls here...literally! She scrunched her nose up up she eyed a girl with long pink hair chatting it up with a platinum blonde. Was that even natural? She crouched down, camera pushed to her face as she snapped a picture of them. They made her think of a pair of fairy princesses...she could go down and ask what their names were, but she was content with pretending they were fairy princesses.
She made up stories for each student that passed below her. Oh, that girl was going to gym class, clearly she was a knight. That one, right there, playing a guitar, was a bard. The tall long-haired girl was an elf, and her shorter, curvier companion was a dwarven warrior. This was so much more fun than taking pictures of boring buildings.
But how would she fit in this fantasy world she had created? Being so high up, clearly, she was the queen! With this smug idea in her head and an even more smug look on her face, she turned the camera around to snap a selfie of herself overseeing her kingdom. She took a look at her picture and frowned. Oh, that wasn't a good picture. She could do better! Hold the camera up, snap. Another bad picture. She just wasn't very photogenic, was she? That was okay, she didn't have to be a regal queen. She could be a fun queen! Giggling to herself, she held her camera up again, crossing her eyes and making a peace sign with her free hand. There, that was more her!
And so this is how her afternoon went, sitting on the rooftop taking goofy selfies and making up stories about strangers.

It should never be said that Margaret disliked her mistress's company. Quite the opposite, despite her occasional protests at how forceful it could be. No, she was actually quite happy for it, but every now and then she did need to get away and breathe for a bit. Today was one of those days. Surprisingly, her classes allowed her to breathe, a fact made possible by the fact that Amelia was two years older than her. But even after school, she had moments to herself until it was time for her mistress to go home. Today, Margaret decided to spend her afternoon on the rooftop until she got called back down. Just a chance to relax and be by herself for a moment.
Only, she wasn't actually alone. Margaret only noticed it after she was already on the roof, but by the way the roof's only other occupant was pressed up against the fence with her camera poking through the links, she realized that all she'd have to do was look up to see her from the ground. She let out a small sigh, but shrugged it off. No point going back now, not when she'd already walked all the way from the grounds to the rooftop. Still, she hung back, just watching for a moment. She wondered if the girl's frequent pictures were practice for anything in particular...right up until the other girl turned the camera back on herself.
Oh jeez.
Still, Margaret hung back for a little bit, watching the girl with something between confusion and amusement as she got a surprising amount of enjoyment just out of taking pictures of herself. Eventually, she stepped forward, commenting "I never did understand the idea behind selfies."

Eulalie had been in the middle of a particularly goofy selfie, eyes crossed and face scrunched up when she heard Margaret's voice. She squawked with surprise, immediately dropping the camera, her heart racing and face heating with embarrassment. After the initial shock of being intruded upon doing something pretty embarrassing had worn off, she let out a shaky sort of laugh and picked up the camera.
"They're fun," she said brightly, looking over the blurry photo that the camera had snapped just as it fell to the ground. "Sometimes you want to look good in a picture but nobody else knows how to make you look good except for you...you know?"

She walks through the countless amount of stairs, climbing her way to the top. That's right- the rooftop. Although she wasn't planning to go through here, but still ended up doing so anyway, supposedly trailing behind Margaret, some maid who also works for the mistress. Probably not as a friend, but just knowing the name and all would seem to be of acquaintance. To the very least, that is.
Still stuck onto the maid uniform (maybe by accident, or maybe not), she slowly opened the door. Even if it wouldn't make any sound while it can never creak so far, Franziska still struck it open as slow as possible. She pecked her head out, taking a look to see if Margaret was actually there. ...aaand there she is! It looks like she's having a talk with someone. It wouldn't hurt to join in, right?
No, of course it wouldn't hurt. For sure. No one wouldn't mind. Depends.
She scooted near Margaret, overhearing the last words in her sentence. idea.. behind selfies? she replayed the words in her head. Oh! Selfies! Right, right.. looking out to the two, but barely focusing on the one who's taking pictures, she shifts her vision towards Margaret "Margaret-senpai, selfies are just for fun. Maybe." she cuts her off, trying not to be rude. It's already gonna be a surprise for her, and the other girl, appearing and talking out of no where. I hope I didn't scare them..
Franziska points at the camera the girl was holding. "Look, look! Miss Beautiful here is taking some, for a good purpose: fun! Right?" she couldn't address the stranger that nicely, but her Japanese is far from well-developed, so goes for her broken way of talking in the language.

Eulalie jumped when a second girl in a maid uniform appeared. What! Why were there so many maids around here! Did she miss the memo? Was it dress-up day or something? The cotton-candy haired girl was speaking Japanese...pretty broken Japanese, as far as Eulalie could tell, she was pretty awful at the language herself.
"Hold on, hold on..." She fumbled in her bag to pull out a translation book, furrowing her eyebrows as she twirled her fingers in her hair, as if that would help her concentrate. "A-anata wa...Eigo...Hana-Hanase...hmmmmph!" She snapped the book shut. It was fun being in a multicultural school! It really was! When the language barriers were broken, at least!
"Do you speak English?" She asked, tilting her head to the side as she looked at Franziska. Her hair was so pretty...she looked like something out of them Japanese animes. "Er, uh...Boreís na miloún elli̱niká? Français? Uhh...ummm..." She scratched her head, shrugging. "Sprechen Sie Deutsch? I speak, like, five languages, but Japanese isn't one..."

The pinkette giggled as she saw the girl's shocked expression. She was aiming to surprise at least someone from the two, and this Miss Beautiful here was doing so. Although it was surely a bad idea to forget changing her clothes into something.. the P.E. clothes should do. How about she does that later? She's having fun joining in the conversation.
Her moderate cyan eyes peered onto the little book. It looks like something for translations - oh, she wishes to join the study! She still needs to amp her Japanese skills. Franzie hears the girl's troubles in terms of speaking in the language, which she can relate very much. She was about to respond but quickly shut it in case the girl had to say something else.
"Yes, I speak English~" her fluent English is usual as always, as if she was fit for being American or something. As the girl shifted languages, she couldn't understand most of them. French wasn't one of her skills, probably Greek as well. Then one thing popped her - German!
German was her homelands language, nonetheless. She scrunched her face up into sheer excitement. "Ah! Sie sprechen Deutsch auch, wie gut? Ich bin so froh ~" she blurted out, forgetting the fact Margaret might not understand their language. It was fun to find someone who can speak German. She feels relieved.

Eulalie couldn't help but giggle at the pink-haired girl's expression. No, it wasn't really a giggle, it was more of a loud guffaw as she clapped her hands together. She stood up, dusting off the seat of her skirt and coming over to Franziska and putting her hand on her shouler.
"Nicht sehr gut, aber besser als Japanisch!" she grinned. Her accent was pretty bad, to be honest. "We should study Japanese sometime. I've been here for four years and all I know is how to ask where the bathroom is." She fist pumped her hand and loudly said, "BENJO WA DOKO DESU KAAAAAAAAAAA~?"
She paused, then shrugged and tapped her chin. "I think?"
(ooc: my google-fu says this is a gross way to ask for the bathroom uhehue...)

She smiled as the girl rested her arm around Franzie's shoulder. "Nun, zumindest hast du ein gutes Verständnis der deutschen." She attempted to compliment Eulalie, but she can't help to the fact her accent isn't that decent. But at least she can understand someone who also speaks in her language. "Oh! Yeah, my Japanese is very broken..." she muttered. It was the little problem she could have for long as to living in Japan with ojou-sama. She also gets new friends around here, so it's cool for sure.
Not entirely surprised by the girl shouting in Japanese, just simply laughing at something she can relate for as long as possible. "We should study together! That would be fun~" She wasn't feeling anything negative when someone lays their arms over her shoulders, she's rather enjoying it actually. It's not that she can argue with a senior, anyway.
She looked at Eulalie, giving a thumbs up. Don't worry, it's correct! She had thought. This person is surely amazing and interesting.

"Yeah! Yeah, I really need to study more," Eulalie said, glancing around almost shiftily. She really should be studying right now. "I'm taking reference pictures for my paintings," she explained, holding the camera up. "Or I was! But, like, that gets boring, you know? So I was looking at all the people down there."
She went back over to the fence, lightly running her fingers over Franzie's shoulders as she stepped away from the smaller girl. She peeked down at the students dawdling about.
"I like to people watch more than I like studying." She glanced over at Franziska. "What do you like to do?"
