heavenly, can't you see? feels like yesterday's here now
Cressiel Anezka fourty one · female · american · vice principal - Hair: A soft golden blonde, that Cressiel often keeps in a ponytail. When particularly lost in thought, she may be found playing with it.
- Eyes: A soft blue, tending towards grey in most lights. They say eyes are windows to the soul, but quite frankly, there isn't too much to be gained from looking Cressiel in the eye. Her gaze is usually quite soft, maybe bordering on placid, but she does have the ability to glare shockingly well. She's been compared to a chameleon before.
- Face: Cressiel's face isn't so delicate. Though feminine, her looks are far more 'caucasian' than anything else - with a strong, almost squarish jaw and a narrow nose. Had her hair not betrayed her "westerner" heritage, her face certainly would. Her skin is a soft cream - nothing too out of the ordinary, honestly. Though she does wear makeup, it seems to be the bare minimum - Cressiel prefers a more average counteance than others.
- Body: Cressiel rests on the taller side of average, a heady 172 cm (5'8) tall. She is of an average weight (to which she wouldn't answer if asked, but you could probably glance at her and guess anywhere from 140-160 pounds). She carries herself lightly, and her steps can be surprisingly quiet - leading her to sneak up on people often, as much as it confuses her.
- Clothing: Cressiel is not one for drawing too much attention to herself - at least not with her clothing. She prefers blouses and suits. She much prefers pants to skirts, (finding them somewhat childish, despite herself?) but can be coaxed into a dress for the sake of an event or the like. She prefers to wear the colors of the school and white, though white makes up most of her wardrobe. While clearly not one for luxuries, she does tend to be wearing a certain necklace with a gold chain, though it is not always visible.
appearance - General: Cressiel approaches most things cooly and calmly, with a nature almost bordering on easygoing. In the presence of other people, Cress can prove herself quite lively - managing smiles and laughs and even jokes - though her sense of humor is usually quite low key. Low key usually describes her very well. She doesn't seem to fill a room with her presence, even being a tad bit forgettable at times - perfectly acceptable. Though, once more, Cressiel has been compared to a chameleon before - and despite how unassuming she usually acts, she is quite capable of being threatening, though she usually achieves this through narrowed eyes and a quiet whisper that much worse could happen if you don't take the time to listen to what she has to say. It's a bit of a shocking thing, but Cressiel does have years of military behind her - she just tries not to show it. Cress wields that cold, critical gaze very sparingly - few things drive her to anger. In fact, those who have been in extended contact with Cress might notice the affected nature of her emotions - the way it always takes a moment for her to work up a smile or a laugh.
Cress has tried to become more open and friendly, certainly - and in a lot of respects, she has succeeded - but it always seems a poor farce to protect the type of person she is. In truth, Cressiel is defined by a listlessness that she hasn't been able to escape. To call her unmotivated wouldn't be wholly true, but it's close enough - Cress seems to do most things out of obligation rather than because she wants to, living most of her life adrift, going where the currents pull her. She finds it difficult to form real attachments to people - for those attachments to not just be obligations. Despite herself, she often finds many people outside of the scope of her job tiresome, and while she certainly does try to remain friendly, she does have a somewhat passive aggressive streak for those who waste her time or manage to garner her irritation. Irritation, however, is about as far as she can go - she wouldn't really be able to tell you the last time she was well and truly angry - or the last time she was happy.
Cress always searches for something to 'fix' her - to make it so she could live a normal life, like other people. The few things that can elicit an emotional response from her, she has a bad habit of clinging to - to the point of it becoming unhealthy. That said, she isn't so much aware of this almost clingy part of herself. She is, however, aware that she has a bad habit of coming across as quite mercurial - picking up new interests and hobbies, and dropping them eventually. At the very least, she never seems to do that with people - but then, becoming close to her is a troublesome affair enough, and who knows if you've connected with the 'real her', or the farce. Or if there even is a 'real her', at this point.

- Extras
- Cress doesn't have many fears, in keeping with her somewhat listless nature overall. However, if you were to ask her, she'd admit she never quite gets comfortable when there is a dog in the room - and moments of existential dread seem to strike her most often when on high rooftops.
- A "jack of all trades" and a master of none, Cressiel could tell you a little about music, a little about rock collecting, a little about retro video games and a little about many other subjects - but they were all passing interests from back in the day.
- She still remembers how to handle a gun, though. She even has one in her house, hidden in the half finished collection of beanie babies.
personality - History:
Where do you go when you're searching for meaning? Cressiel's lived her entire life like this, and still doesn't know. You could say she's lived a thousand lives; learning how to be a composer... and abandoning. Learning how to be a teacher - and leaving. A long tenure in the army... - and then leaving, as if those twelve years meant nothing. And in a way - they did, because all of the service in the world did nothing to teach her how to live.
> "2nd generation american" - father emigrated from england (british-american) > has one brother, ryken, and a cousin she met several times > not on good terms with family - doesn't talk to any of them > graduated from college around ~22 and became an intelligence officer for the US navy, upon her father's suggestion > served with the japanese military for much of her time > had several friendships, most of which went poorly - but she holds onto a necklace given to her during that time > left the navy when she was around 34 > finished getting a teaching degree and taught for several years (mathematics, music) before applying and getting VP position ~3 years ago (38)

- Face Claim: YoRHA Commander from NIER: Automata - Cressiel Anezka
background - Position: Vice Principal
- Experience: Having several years teaching experience, and also quite a bit of information managing experience (from the army) made her a strong applicant regardless - her agreeable personality was more icing on the cake, really.
- Housing: An uptown condo, somewhat humble, though there's more than her fair share of glass windows in the complex. She tries to keep her surroundings sparse, but were you to visit her house you would probably notice the remnants of at least two hobbies past. Oh, and the beanie babies.
