Last time she was fortunate enough to meet Orenda, but anyone in their right mind knew luck like that didn't come a second time. Walking alongside the blonde reminded her of their small-but-noticeable height difference, and it would be a lie if Reina were to say she didn't attempt to steal a few discreet glances as they made way from the classroom to the cafeteria. Honestly, she wasn't even quite sure why they were having coffee together. Baseball? Katou-san probably wouldn't mind giving an extensive lecture on the Carps. Or maybe she wanted a lesson on French? That one was extremely unlikely, the redhead thought to herself with a cheeky smile as they made their arrival after what felt like an eternity. [break][break] "I can find us seats, if you want to get the coffee?" Reina offered, keen on getting a few minutes to mentally prepare herself for whatever conversation was to come. Also because she preferred to sit a little ways away from the few clustered of students that currently occupied the cafeteria, some snacking and others studying, not because she wanted to be alone with the Director, but because god forbid those students overhear something weird out of context. Theora was pleased to have Matches beside her. It felt like she had won, what it was that she won didn't matter, but she'd claimed the prize. One of many for her to show off. She kept her head held high, chatting with Matches but not actually giving her direct attention. Intense and personal conversation could be had when they were sitting across from each other, or rubbing elbows at a table in the cafeteria. Now was just showing her off, maybe she'd see another particularly prime candidate that she knew from theater and could rope in to sharing a coffee with the redhead. It'd be cute watching them together, making them share a single cup with two straws or something. It didn't happen so she put it aside for a later get together.
"...and so if they win by six runs tonight, then we're well on our way to the pennant and it forces your Giants to play catch up to have any chance of showing up in the final competitors." She blithely chatted on as they entered the cafeteria. "As great as it would be to face off the Giants and win in the final game, I'm not going to pretend that it's not slanted towards a loss. Better to go in from a position of superiority, knock your Giants out now."
Theora nodded. "Sure, is there any way you like your coffee? Extra sugar, vanilla drops, whatever?" Theora had different preferences depending on weather, time of day, and what she would be doing. For her next class, that being one of her acting focused ones, she'd want it decaf but with extra sugar. Decaf should offset the little rush she got from finding Matches but the sugar would be good to give her the extra pep in her step. If she did both, she might become a bit too excitable.

[attr="class","petit"] [break] [attr="class","petitcontent"] [attr="class","petitcontentstyle"] [attr="class","petitfirstletter"]A h... right, today was game day. Katou-san rambled on, and Reina did her best to keep up, as per usual. Runs – those were points, right? Six seemed like a lot to win by though, if she had her mind on the right sport. She didn't know what a pennant was, but she hoped the Giants made it there, if only to quell the little competitive bouts that surfaced whenever the Director made a little quip her team; though could it really be called hers if it was one of the only ones she knew? Yeah, why not. "We'll see, I'm sure the Giants will do... just fine." Suggesting they'd win would have been too much, probably, that would basically be asking for another rant. But now, she'd probably need to actually watch the game, or at the very least do some browsing on the internet later on to see who won. [break][break] Reina hummed in thought, lightly touching her finger to her chin as she came to a decision. "I'll have extra sugar. Maybe two spoonfuls?" Did that seem like too much? She preferred sweet over bitter and with enough sugar, that taste could be masked but at the same time, she didn't want to seem like a baby who couldn't handle the natural taste of coffee. The redhead cleared her throat rather abruptly, "O-One. Just one spoonful is fine, thank you." Regardless, she would definitely need the caffeine to make it through the rest of the day. [break][break] Running off to claim a table, Reina decided on one that was close to the window. It was out there enough not to be considered private, but secluded enough not to be in the way of others. A good balance, not to mention that having the window nearby would give her somewhere else to look should things get awkward(they always did, she discovered herself to be rather good at it, to her own dismay). It wasn't until she sat down, until she let out a long exhale and relaxed in the thin plastic seat that it dawned on her: was this a date? Reina jumped up in the chair, a light tinge of pink on her cheeks as she leaned forward to rest her elbows on the table before her, resting her face in her hands. No... maybe it was just the two of them getting coffee together, but that's what friends do, right? It was just a nice little hang out between acquaintances! Definitely not a date... Theora rolled her eyes. The Giants infected everything. If they were to do fine, that would be no good. But a close game was, at least, more exciting to watch than a six point lead. Albeit coming back from behind that far was also exciting. She certainly wouldn't mind seeing the carp come back from that far behind to steal a victory. Maybe it wouldn't be as great for overall placement but it would be a good story, something for notable historical moments. Some reeducation would definitely have to be on the books for Matches. Maybe Theora could call home and ask for her old videotapes of the great Carp matches. Some of the real heart-pounders.
"Alright, Coffee with sugar." Theora confirmed and went off to get two cups. It was obvious that Matches wasn't a heavy drinker. Probably for the best, not just in general but because it was a terrible habit to have. Not that Theora minded a few bad habits, coffee addiction was one of the safer ones if you brushed often enough and occasionally made use of teeth whitener. She plucked out two cups and poured hers, adding some extra sugar. Then she poured a cup for matches. Rather than adding the sugar herself, Theora picked out a third cup. She poured several spoonfuls of sugar into it, dropped some instant cream packs on top, and dropped in a stirrer stick. Matches didn't know what she wanted so she could make her own.
Theora found the table easily enough, Matches had hair like a spotlight which was certainly useful and would be a wonderful trait if she could be dragged on stage. Theora had a coffee cup in both hands and the mixing cup was under the crook of her arm. Carefully she set down her cup by the empty seat and the black coffee in front of Matches. "Her you are, you can make your own choices for your drink." She set the sugar and creamer cup down next to the black coffee cup. That job done, Theora lounged onto her seat and took a sip of the hot coffee. Heavenly nectar, to be sure. "So like I was saying, you should come to my dorm tonight. We'll watch the game, see where it goes. I'm pretty sure that if my roommate decides to hang around I can convince her to join us for the festivities."

And arm? The redhead watched with curiosity as Katou-san placed down a third cup filled with sugar and topped with creamers. How thoughtful! Reina smiled, ushering a soft "Thank you..." as she quickly reached for the condiments, not-so-discreetly sweetening her coffee with more than what was probably necessary. Needless to say, it wasn't black coffee anymore. She then took a sip of the warm drink, followed by a content sigh. [break][break] Ah... so that was what she meant when she suggested going to her room later on. The baseball game. What else was that supposed to insinuate, dummy? Reina scolded herself, mentally face-palming as she was suddenly overwhelmed with her own embarrassment. It was just one thing after another, honestly; today was not one of her best, that was for sure. Whatever though, what happened in her mind stayed in her mind, and fortunately that misunderstanding would never see the light of day. There were more important matters at hand now, like the current invitation to watch a sports game she knew little to nothing about, alongside a girl who lived for it. "Are you sure your roommate would be okay with it?" Reina asked for reconfirmation, mostly to buy herself some thinking time. "I don't want to intrude, or anything like that." [break][break] She recalled the game nights at relative's houses, the loud shouting and ecstatic cheering. Was that what it would be like tonight? Did the all-mighty Director indulge in such frivolities? Oh, and what if the Giants did win? With the little knowledge she had, Reina could only assume it had the possibility of going either way, and she wasn't quite sure she wanted to be there should the Carp lose... Theora set her cup down and lifted her bag onto the table. "Probably, not like it matters. She's always falling asleep all the time, even if She did join us, she'd be asleep on your shoulder after a few minutes. She needs to drink more coffee." Theora said, coffee solved all those sorts of problems, not that it seemed to help her roommate. "Plus I'll be watching the game alone or not, adding you isn't going to make much difference. You don't strike me as the rowdy type." Although she'd heard lots of stories, that was why she wanted a redhead after all.
Certainly Matches wore her emotions out on her sleeve but that didn't mean that she would act on them impulsively. There was a difference between easy to read and acting out. Theora dug one of her older notebooks out of her bookbag and flipped it to her roommate. She drew a pen from the metal loop spine and twirled it around her fingers before putting it to paper. "Do you have a favorite color?" She asked. Matches and her roommate probably wouldn't make much of a pairing, but stranger things had happened. It was certainly something to consider. "It wouldn't happen to be green, would it?"
Certainly bringing them together would be useful. It would be easy enough getting them both into the same room a lot for baseball or whatever else. And, as an added bonus, since that room was also Theora's she would have a good excuse to hang around them and observe the proceedings. She'd have to be a little more circumspect about taking notes but she could probably manage that without staring too hard. Certainly it would give her more details than watching girls chat from a nearby rooftop.

[attr="class","petit"] [break] [attr="class","petitcontent"] [attr="class","petitcontentstyle"] [attr="class","petitfirstletter"]T he Director's roommate sounded like a very unique figure, the way she was described. Perhaps she was a hard worker, to be so tired all the time? Or maybe just lethargic. "She sounds..." Reina searched for the right word, fishing around until she gave up and settled with a simple, "interesting. I wouldn't mind meeting her, though." Ah, perhaps she was sleepy all the time from living with the Director? Reina silently pondered the topic, wondering what Katou-san was like off-stage, if Theora was a different person when she wasn't engrossed in the duties of the theater or fueled on by the passion of baseball. Hmm... probably shouldn't dwell on it too much. [break][break] Not much of a difference? Well, that was a little disheartening. Though Reina knew she didn't make all that much of an impact on others, and if she did end up going, she'd probably just sit curled up in silence. Something akin to a ghost, tangible albeit cursed by very little presence. Maybe things would work more in her favor is she was the rowdy type. "I'll think about it. If I recall correctly, I should be free tonight," Okay, maybe around ninety percent sure. The redhead's memory wasn't the best, but she could've sworn she really didn't have anything to do today. Averting her gaze, she muttered a soft "maybe." before taking another sip of her coffee. Indecisiveness was irritating, and it never seemed to go away. Should I...?[break][break] The Director then moved to dig something out of her bag, and Reina watched curiously as she flipped through the pages of a notebook. She couldn't tell if it was the same one as she'd been using during class, but it looked similar. "Green? It would depend on the shade, I think, though I'd consider Seafoam one of my favorites." That question was rather sudden, and honestly, Reina just blurted out the first pleasant color that came to mind. Did it have something to do with what was written in that notebook? "Erm. "Good, good." Theora said, nodding to herself. At the very least they weren't automatically predisposed o hating each other which would make bringing the two girls together a lot easier. That wasn't to say that it would all be easy, or even possible in the end. Theora was dealing with theoretical love physics which were at least a million times more interesting and difficult than regular physics. She made a small note to the side of her roommate's profile and shut the note book with a little snap.
"My favorite color, eh?" She hadn't really thought about this before, she didn't need a profile after all, she was the Director. The director managed people and did not need any managing. Theora picked up her cup of coffee and sipped it slowly as she mulled over the answer. In the end, there really was only one answer that she could give. "Red, yes, definitely red like your hair, though I don't mind white accents or highlights but that's not really a color anyway so that'd be cheating." Red and white, of course, were the main colors of her Carp. White on its own was a bit too pure, but red was full of meaning, hence why she was trying to collect the redhead in the first place. Based on hair alone, the pairing with her roommate wouldn't work out though. Red and green weren't the best combination. Seeing them together with their hair a bit tangled up as they lay together wasn't great. Maybe Matches needed a black haired girl, though a white haired girl would be nicely symbolic. Purity aside, pretty would win there. She could get a metaphor or two out of that.
Theora pulled out a different notebook and flipped thorugh page after page of doodles and profiles while her mind struck up another thought. She honestly should have asked this sooner. "Well if you do decide to come over, feel free. On a random and completely unrelated note, are you dating anyone?" Older girls had that allure and a third year counted as older. Maybe she had, god forbid, a boy stashed in some nearby apartment or, luck be praised, a girl in another dorm.

[attr="class","petit"] [break] [attr="class","petitcontent"] [attr="class","petitcontentstyle"] [attr="class","petitfirstletter"]G ood? Was that a good thing? Green was a nice color, she supposed. Maybe it was Director's favorite, too... a bit confused, Reina watched as the blonde scribbled something in her notebook and slammed it shut, the sudden sound causing violet eyes to widen for a moment. She took a bit of time to come up with an answer, and it definitely wasn't green. A very specific shade too, and upon hearing it, Reina self-consciously fiddled with the ends of her hair. She would've called it coincidence if not for the exact description(save for the white that Reina hoped she wouldn't have to deal with till old age). She nodded slowly, thoughtfully, before she muttered, "I guess that's a nice color..." [break][break] Before she knew it, Katou-san had whipped out another notebook – how many did she have in there? The redhead regretted not choosing a table where they'd be sitting directly next to each other so that she might get a glimpse of what those mysterious notebooks contained. The question that came next was completely out of the blue, and honestly, Reina was not prepared in the slightest. "D-Dating?" She repeated, more for her own comprehension as she contemplated over how she should present her answer. She wasn't, she never had in fact, but would admitting to that make her look bad? Dating wasn't mandatory she knew that much but at the same time, she was getting older and most had already gotten to that stage in their lives. Not to mention the fact that Reina wasn't completely used to being open about her sexuality. "I, uh. I'm not... no." Her voice had trailed off as whispered a barely audible, "Not yet, at least." She then cleared her throat, immediately following up with an abrupt lie that was spoken with all the confidence she could muster, which to her dismay, wasn't a whole lot. "I'm, well, just waiting for the right person, I guess. Something like that, yeah." [break][break] "Do... do you?" Wrong word choice, dumbo. "I-I mean, are you." The only way to save herself from anymore embarrassment was to deflect the question, though she really did wonder if the Queen of Theatre ruled alone. Whether or not Matches approved of her color choice was irrelevant. Theora's tastes mattered not a whit but at least the girl was open to red. It was a way in to get her to like a baseball team actually worth cheering for. The redhead needed so much work. She had to be groomed into a proper young woman. Inducted into theater and cheering for the Carp, that was pretty much Theora's entire definition of what was required to be a proper woman. It was not a very complicated list.
Theora stopped on a mostly empty page in the notebook, only holding a few title ideas around the margins and slightly smudged everywhere else with lead. She tended to write a lot and do so on both front and back pages of the notebook so they sometimes smudged as they rubbed while the notebook was closed. She reached for her coffee and took a little sip. Matches was certainly a fidgety one. It was cute, and just a little bit fun to make her squirm like a captured rodent. Theora nodded at the protestations. They made sense if you were a bit dull and didn't really go out for adventure. She set the coffee down and wrote at teh top of the notebook page 'Matches'.
"I suppose that's a safe way to go about it, but how will you know the right one has come along unless you go out there to find them?" She twirled the pen in her fingers like a tiny baton. "Not that I'm promoting sleeping around, but if you don't know about what the different feelings of lust and love feel like, you may mistake your first love for your true love." It happened all the time in drama and theater so Theora felt very confident giving out advice.
"They start out all perfect and wonderful and then you find out they go around killing animals or abusing the servants or cheering for the Giants." She backtracked a moment, "Not that that last one would be a problem for you." It was at least an attempt at being polite, if not a very genuine or heartfelt one. "Besides, you're young, you're surrounded by beauty. Honestly, now is the time to get out there, experiment. I know you may not be very keen on it, but it's totally healthier to explore your options with women when you're young. No chance of a baby ruining your teen years or career, you learn a lot about what makes your body tick, and you start learning how to play it safe. Then you can take it to the guys later if you're not sold on women."
Theora shrugged, she was being incredibly blunt, but then again, she was making an argument that would convince Matches, hopefully, to join up with a girl Theora could choose for her. And then hopefully watch as the relationship bloomed and, if need be, collapsed. A story needed both ups and downs after all. "I don't date, no. I'm strictly a one woman gal now. Half my love and devotion goes to her, the other half to the Carp obviously."

Theora Katou ooc;; will add the fancy schmancy table tomorrow, I'm posting from my phone in bed LOL
As the Director returned to scribbling in her notebook, Reina took another sip of coffee, reveling in the warmth that embraced her heart like a long lost friend. It was the twinge of bitterness that brought her back. She listened to the blonde's advice intently, occasionally working on her drink until there was seldom any left. Katou-san was probably right, there really wasn't any other way to truly sort out such feelings if she had nothing to compare them to. But Reina wasn't very daring, she wasn't bold and she definitely wasn't brave. The difference between love and lust... the redhead rested her cheek in the palm of her hand. Honestly? She'd never truly experienced either of them. It was a little frightening too; she always heard that first love never worked out. And then the wisdom of the Director's advice began to falter, just a bit. Killing animals? Abusing servants? Okay, she understood the reasoning behind the third one at this point, but the others made Reina wonder if this girl had some past relationship problems of her own. Hopefully, hopefully, these examples weren't based on previous experiences. At the little quip towards the Giants, Reina's expression deadpanned. She really wouldn't let that one go, huh. With the way the Director was, Reina had a difficult time discerning what was and wasn't sincere when it came to her new friend(acquaintance?)'s tone towards the baseball team that shall not be named. Hearing the little 'you're young' speech made Reina giggle a bit, and while she tried to hide it, she was sure it showed at least a little. "You sound like an old woman who's seen all there is to see and done all there is to do." She commented with a slight grin. That grin was quick to fade though, her preferences soon brought into play. Oh, the mere thought of teenage pregnancy due to some... guy left a bitter taste in her mouth, as if all the sugar and creamer she drowned her coffee in had suddenly dried up. She scrunched her nose, fiddling with her fingers a bit as she murmured, "I don't think I'll be taking to guys, well... ever." It was a roundabout way of admitting her preferred gender, but she was still too embarrassed and unsure to not beat around the bush. "But thank you. For the advice, that is. I just, erm. I'm not the most... confident, I suppose, so I've been content with waiting thus far." Half to herself and half to the Carps? Well, that seemed like a very wholesome relationship. "Did you in the past? Before you devoted yourself to the Carps. I mean, you seem well educated on that topic, so I thought that maybe... y'know." Reina gestured to nothing in particular. An up and coming love guru had to have prior experience, right?

Theora was getting some good notes on Matches, mostly emotional stuff admittedly but that was useful too. "Never is a long time, dearie." Theora spoke formally, imitating the old lady that Matches seemed to think she sounded like. "But while I might not have done it all, I've pretty much experienced everything. I bet nothing could surprise me now." Theora marked two little stars on either side of Matches in her notebook. No boys and pretty sure of it, that made her open to even more choices with possibly less convincing. Getting people to experiment with new things could be pretty difficult. Maybe Matches could be paired with a single star, an experimenter. Could love endure? Would it be dashed when the experiment went awry or the single star moved on to a new thing? It could be enthralling to watch.
"Content is a horrible thing to be. You should always be striving for bigger and better things until it's all perfect. Again, more reason to date." Theora swung the hand with the pen around gesturing at the rest of the cafeteria. "Look at all these girls, any one of them could take you to new heights. It's important to experience new things and let them leave their mark on you. Sure some of those marks might be scars but those are precious too."
She set her notebook down open beside the coffee and stared Matches in the eye. "I like coffee. I like the Carp but I love the theater. She is the greatest thing that ever happened to me. I strive with all my heart and soul to be worthy of that stage." She took a deep breath, her voice quivering with something, tension? Apprehension? Excitement? "I love every part of her from the ticket vendor to the diva, from the matte painter to financier. And I love every single person who joins me in my goal to be one with her. I told you, I'm the Director. But it's not just because it's my focus. It's because the director looks out for every single person in the theater. They are a part of every job, every aspect. I am Director because that's the closest I can come to being like Her. Being Her."
Her eyes burned with passion, the need, the want, and it was evident that she meant every word. "I am not content, I strive. It's impossible, I know. A person can't become an ideal, shouldn't love an ideal, but I strive." She picked up the coffee and took a long drink. The intensity fading like morning fog in the sun. "I'd like you to join my productions as part of the prop department." She said,, as if it wasn't a complete veering from the topic. But, of course, for Theora it wasn't. "Along with the new experiences and expansion of your portfolio, I'll give you whatever support and love I have to offer. I try to take care of all my people."

She was fine without them, thank you very much. She did, however, chuckle at the blonde's elderly impression; it was good and honestly, if she didn't look like that(a positive that), Reina would've been easily fooled. Acting was one of the many mysteries of theatre she would never truly understand, after all, she had a hard enough time just being herself. It was admirable seeing how others could slip into different roles and personalities so smoothly, but it was a little frightening too – when they can switch so easily, how do you know which one is real? "Nothing can surprise you now?" She repeated, humming in thought. "I'll keep that in mind, then." [break][break] When said like that, dating sounded almost like a skill. Something you try and try again to improve at, learning from your mistakes and, like the blonde had said, striving to be better. Okay, she was probably right, but that didn't make the thought of it any less tiring. Knowing that there would be more than one... that there would be some that wouldn't work out, Reina wasn't sure if she was prepared for those. "It's hard, though..." The redhead complained, her gaze scanning the length of the cafeteria and the many girls that strut around within it. "They're all so pretty, too pretty. I can't even talk to them, let alone date one of them."[break][break] Katou-san left her notebook open on the table, but before Reina could try to steal a glimpse of its pages, the eyes that held the sky within them were looking right at her. She would see it later, perhaps. Eventually. The Director's confession of love towards the theatre was heartwarming and almost inspiring, honestly. She was so passionate, so driven in what she did and what she would do, and that in itself made her shine like the sun as her words came down in rays that nurtured the world below. Before long her speech was over, and Reina spent the next few moments soaking it all in before the next wave came with an offer she hadn't expected, not entirely. Her immediate reaction was a soft, "A-Are you sure?" Was she really worthy to be a part of something so grand? Something so magnificent? She had the time, not to mention the benefits were absolutely worth the efforts, but Reina's only worry was that she wouldn't be good enough. "If you'll have me, then yes, I would love to." She accepted with a smile, hesitant but genuine. "Good." One word, the only word that mattered. Theora was pleased. Matches was doing what she wanted, joining the clan. She was one of Theora's now. Not a pet, not a servant, almost a child. Theora considered herself the matriarch and but if they were a family then that family tree had a fair bit of intertwining branches. Of course that was pretty normal for the classical greek play so it was probably all going to turn out alright or in terrible tragedy. Either might be a lot of fun or at least make a good story.
Theora shook her coffee cup around slowly and gauged the amount left in it before she up ended it, drinking it down to the dregs. Though no dregs in this coffee, filtered as it was. She popped off the lid. "Be right back." and started walking back to the pots. She'd have herself a refill and then start the real conversation. Work was always so difficult, especially when she didn't have any work to do as of yet. Not for a prop girl at least. She filled the cup halfway with decaf before adding the sugar and stirring it. Then she filled it up the rest of the way.
All things considered, this meant that she'd need Matches to work on other things. Theora made her way back over and sat down at the table. "That girl, right there." She pointed out a random girl sitting at a table among several friends. "If I brought her over here and she asked you on a date, would you say yes?" She was being entirely serious now. "If she wanted to take you home to meet the parents, to share the rest of her life with you from this instant until the end of eternity, would you say yes?" Theora put the lid on the coffee and took a small sip.
"Because I will bring her over, I will bring you two together. But only if you want it." That was absolutely a lie, if Matches wanted it or not, this was what was best for Theora's story. But Matches probably secretly wanted something like this so that meant Theora was still the good girl in all this. "I can take all that pressure off of you, you don't need to talk to them first, you don't need to ask them on the date. The only thing that would get in your way is your own self consciousness and insecurities."

[attr="class","petit"] [break] [attr="class","petitcontent"] [attr="class","petitcontentstyle"] [attr="class","petitfirstletter"]R eina nodded, watching was the Director got up and left behind a very tempting notebook. Lavender eyes hesitantly glanced between the notebook and its owner, considering her options of quelling her curiosity. It was probably just theatre-related notes, nothing more, but still. It was so alluring, as if it were made of shimmering gold; one notebook to rule them all, or, well, something like that. Eyebrows knit together and lips pressed into a thin line, Reina leaned over and picked up the notebook, holding it gingerly as if it were made of class, carefully as though it would explode if she made even a single crease in its pages. [break][break] Flipping through, most of it didn't make sense to the redhead. Code? Nicknames? Observational notes, maybe. There were things written in the margins too, but she didn't have the time to try and decipher those. The little doodles were endearing in their own way, even if they weren't the most... artistic, and when Reina happened upon a very angry looking 'au revoir' with more arrows and strikeouts than what was probably necessary, she quietly laughed to herself. [break][break] By the time she happened upon the page titled 'Matches', she was too late. Reina was only able to get a quick glimpse before it was time to hastily put the notebook back in time. She made sure it was in the exact position it was before, and despite doing such a great job at hiding the evidence, guilt and nervousness leaked through the expression on her face as she did her best to put on a smile. As soon as Katou-san sat down though, she got straight to business. The question was very frank, and with each detail piled on, Reina's cheeks slowly grew to match the color of her hair. "Uh," Dating was one thing, but the rest... those were a bit too much for her heart to take. "Not now, um. I would want that in the future maybe, but I don't think I'm ready for all of that yet." She might've said yes to a single date, though. [break][break] Entrusting everything to someone else felt like a double-edged sword. Yes, Reina would absolutely love to have someone take off the pressure and anxiety of making the first move, but at the same time, she couldn't rely so heavily on someone else to make those choices for her. Katou-san wouldn't be there to help her forever, and eventually she'd have to do it herself. Reina sighed so deeply she feared part of her soul might've slipped out. "Maybe you could help... but only a little!" She stressed, her gaze falling on the girl Katou-san had pointed out before. "I'd like to be able to do those things on my own eventually but, erm. I may need help getting there." It was embarrassing to admit, but it was the truth. Theora rolled her eyes, it wasn't subtle either. She could be reserved and careful if she wanted to be but it was far more exciting to jump in feet first, consequences be damned. Admittedly she tended to have weighed the consequences before even going to the pool so maybe she was cheating a bit. Plus, it helped to make sure a lifeguard was on hand, but leaving behind meandering metaphors, trepidation wasn't what Theora wanted to hear. "The future is now. If you keep thinking maybe someday then someday will never come. I may be in the business of fairytales but in the real world the princess needs to get off her butt, hunt down the prince, wrestle him to the ground and get her life sorted."
Theora took a long swig of coffee, winced a little as the heat stung her mouth. She was going perhaps too fast for freshly poured elixir. "I don't really do things by halves. You'll figure that out as we work together more, I'm more of an all in and in spades kinda gal. So what do you want in a lover? Sure sure, everyone wants funny or kind or pretty, but what are you looking for? What kind of girl is it gonna take for you to stand up and surrender to Cupid's arrow?"
Theora might have been going overboard here, but she was a big believer in the whims of fortune, that's what made theater special, or what made the stories in theater so interesting. Fate was a very powerful force in a narrative. "All that extra stuff, the dating, the parents, the bedroom, that can come later. First thing is building up the courage to say 'Please go out with me' or to say 'Yes, I'll go out with you'. She reached out and grabbed her notebook, flipping open to the page on Matches and pulled out the pen. "You want to do them on your own, that's great, you should, but what or who do we need to make you start doing it?"

[attr="class","petit"] [break] [attr="class","petitcontent"] [attr="class","petitcontentstyle"] [attr="class","petitfirstletter"]W as that – was that an eye roll? Rude! Reina pouted, her lips pursed together in a slight frown. Was there really something wrong with taking things slow? Okay, maybe she was just nervous and a little afraid, but slow sounded much more pleasant, much easier, with much less chance of failure. "I don't want to wrestle the prince," She complained, mumbling under her breath. "or another princess." Couldn't they just come to her castle and sweep her off of her feet? That would be much more romantic. Ideal, even. [break][break] Perhaps it was there that drew the line between their immense differences; Reina could never dive right in head first, not in a million years. She was the type to hesitantly dip a toe in the water, to make sure it's juuuust right. Not cold enough to freeze her and not hot enough to leave a burn. "Mmm..." The redhead hummed in thought, her gaze floating around the cafeteria. Honestly, Katou-san had taken the words out of her mouth. Funny, kind, pretty. What more did she need? Reina was a simple girl with simple tastes. The only requirement would be to like me back, at least a little. "I-I don't know." It was embarrassing, trying to describe her type, that was, if she even had one. "Someone exciting, maybe? I'm not very... outgoing, I guess, so maybe having someone like that around would be, uh, fun?" But really, anyone would do. She wouldn't say it though, she feared the Director wouldn't exactly be a fan of indifference. [break][break] Reina hoped all those things would come far, far later, her heart wasn't anywhere near ready for any of that. For now, holding hands would probably do. The blonde was back at it with her notebook again, and Reina wondered if that was her page. And if so, what was being written... she had a feeling she wouldn't get another chance to peek, to her great misfortune. What did she need to start? Well, just the mere thought of asking someone out left her cheeks red and her heart beating quicker than was was probably normal. She couldn't even do that! Reina shrugged, her eyes resting on the notebook. "I've never asked someone out before—" She admitted, her words quick and her face hot. "I've never, erm. I've never dated anyone either, and, well, I can't say I'm... the best at flirting." The opposite, actually. She was the worst. The absolute worst. She sighed. "I can't. A-At all, if you heard me try you'd laugh." Her voice trailed off into a whisper. She tried once, a day that would live in infamy – it was then that Reina discovered that making winks look natural was much, much harder than she'd originally thought. Matches was too passive. It was annoying, but then, it worked in a way. It just meant that she'd found the wrong half first. You didn't get much from watching the princess sit in her tower day after day and waiting for a prince to come, you got a lot of entertainment out of the prince as he rode around trying to free her from the castle that held her captive. Theora would have to go out and nudge a few princely ladies towards Matches and see what caught fire. A match couldn't ignite itself after all, you had to strike it against something, sometimes many times.
She wrote 'find prince' on the page now, along with 'passive', 'princess', and 'bondage' and drew a heart next to it. Princess were high maintenance but Theora felt confident that she would be able to manage. That said, she wasn't exactly the most patient sort. Not when an opportunity like this arose. After all, what better way to attract a challenger than presenting a challenge? Theora took a sip of her coffee and closed the notebook. "So what we need," Theora began, "is somebody who makes you feel comfortable enough to try new things, somebody who stands beside you in the hard times and against the unknown."
She set the notebook down to the side and the coffee beside it, clearing a spot in front of her as she stood. "That's easy enough." She smiled that oversized smile and put her hands down palms flat on the table. She inhaled slowly as she prepared what she would say in her mind. Improv, the soul of theater. Then she was up on the table, one foot on the chair, the other on the table. She rested with her arm perched on the upraised knee as she surveyed the room. "Gentle beauties of Fukui, I beseech you and request that any of you who long for love and companionship take note now." She held out her free hand and waved it across the whole of her audience. "The love of your life may be right here but you will never know until you take a stand and ask for her hand. Come over for a new adventure."
A voice rang out from the other side of the cafeteria, just as loud though far less optimistic. "Hey you, get down from that table. What do you think you're doing?" Theora squinted and saw a school morals member marching towards her and muttered a nasty obscenity. "I heard that, You're getting so much detention." Theora hopped off the table and flashed a smile at Matches.
"Gotta go, stay here awhile and your new partner may come 'round. Game's at five, room 201, bring the girlfriend if you like." Theora grabbed her notebook, bag, and left the coffee. She didn't have enough hands for all of her stuff after all. "Ain't catching me, Javert." She shouted and took off at a sprint with school justice trying to catch up.

Reina shifted to the side in an attempt to get a better look, probably less discreetly than she imagined. Not that she could see anything, anyway. So focused in her blatant curiosity, she jumped as said notebook was suddenly shut and its owner stated a theory that was more or less right on the mark. "I... I guess? Something like that, anyway..." Hmm, actually, now that she thought about it, someone like that sounded rather nice. Someone who would hold her hand and guide her through new adventures she wouldn't have experienced on her own, who was strong where she was weak and who would love her despite her flaws and – okay, maybe I'm getting a little too into all of this – before she could finish that thought, the Director abruptly stood, and Reina's heart dropped the moment she saw that smile.[break][break] "W-Wait, easy enough? What's—" The redhead's eyes widened as she helplessly watched the Director climb onto what could be described as the worst stage in history, and when she spoke, Reina wondered if this was really happening, or if she was having a really vivid nightmare because oh my god, she'd love to wake up right about now. Her mouth was slightly agape as well, not that she noticed. All Reina could focus on now was the striking blonde making a completely unnecessary and overwhelmingly embarrassing announcement to literally everyone in the cafeteria. Her voice was loud, it was clear, and there was no way in hell you'd be able to miss it. Uggghhhhhhh. [break][break] Reina buried her face in her hands, refusing to look up at the many faces that were no doubt drawn to the, the... whatever the hell this was. Then the cavalry arrived, shouting threats of detention from across the room and when Reina peeked through the gaps between her fingers, all she saw was a familiar smile that would haunt her dreams for the next eternity of which she'd be spending anywhere but here. Who needed school meals anyway? Not her, not anymore. I hope Misha doesn't mind cooking for the rest of the year. [break][break] All she could manage was a nod of understanding and a quiet 'mmph' as Katou-san made a break for it. What was she supposed to do now? Awkwardly hobble out of the cafeteria after her companion's grand exit? Geez... and her day was still far from over.
