FRIENDSHIPS - -

She may be aloof, but Marie is certainly not adverse to making friends during her stay at Fukui! She’s fairly easy-going, so I’d imagine she’d at least have some kind of acquaintanceship with most of the people she interacts with on a day-to-day basis. I’d love for her to have/develop one or two really close friends, both for emotional support and the occasional helpful guides for when her disability proves a major problem.

HATESHIPS - -

I’m not quite sure where to start here, but given the diverse student body and Marie’s short-fuse for annoying narcissism, it’s inevitable that she’ll eventually find someone that she’d prefer to never be around ever again. Someone that just makes her think “Oh right, it’s you.” Most transgressions towards her would probably end with her delivering a few choice words and simmering, but anyone targeting someone she calls a friend would be biting off quite more than that.

RELATIONSHIPS - -

This is sure to be interesting stuff. Marie is pansexual, but she doesn’t really know it herself yet - she’s never done any experimenting, and the closest she’s ever gotten to feelings of attraction were the ones for her childhood friend. Lack of experience has just conditioned her that she’s probably only attracted to men, because well, isn’t that what’s “normal”? And Marie so desperately wants to be just that.

She probably wouldn’t be up for a fling or a one-night stand, even under the pretense of ‘experimenting’. Anyone looking to pursue anything with her would obviously have to be patient dealing with her personal hangups and her coping mechanism of emotional withdrawal. Also since the phrase “love at first sight” means nothing to her, the only likely path to a relationship with Marie is starting out as a friend first.

I definitely think we should thread! Mi-Yun is talkative, self-centered, and sometimes ignorant, and for this and a few other choice reasons I have a feeling Marie would absolutely hate her xD. But I know that Mi-Yun would find Marie captivating at the very least. Her quiet beauty and reserved attitude would make her very curious and extremely interested to find out about her. Probably the biggest problem would be getting her to leave Marie alone. :V


Let me know what you think! Perhaps we can do something where they are forced to spend some time together, like partner project in class or having to create a duet in a composition class? Or I could just have Mi-Yun squander over to Marie at a lunch or study table and be her little self. Just some ideas!

I'm excited just thinking about it! They seem like they'd have a really interesting dynamic. I'm up for whatever - the idea of the two of them being paired together for a class project is a great one, and definitely one that I'd really like to visit at some point. It seems pretty plausible that some teachers would plan some stuff like that early on to try and help the students get to know each other.

I'm also thinking another possibility is threading their first impressions of each other, since they appear to be roomies this year - kind of open season to be all "so what's up with the sunglasses"? Which idea are you feeling more at the moment?

What if we had them move in at different times so they didn't know or meet each other - and then in their first class they have to be paired up and work together (and they make opinions of each other, no matter what they may be) and then when they return home for tonight they're greeting to each other and it's either super exciting or in Marie's case probably a total terror. xD

That sounds perfect! So something dealing with like some sort of Lit class (or a composition project like you mentioned) that transitions into a sort of Odd Couple situation! Do you have a preference for which one of us should start the thread?

I think a composition class would be good! Perhaps they have to write a song together in a few weeks as a project in said class.
