keep on dreaming even if to breaks your heart, even if it leaves you alone
Mi-Yun held her phone shakily in her pale hand and re-read the text she'd sent this morning. Hi~ Come holiday shopping with me today! I'll be waiting by the gate at 3! Maybe it wasn't world's best idea to send a last minute inviation and not even wait for a reply before planning, but whatever! She had faith that Caia would come.
She felt so strange thinking about what happened in the library. Sometime she was sure that Caia understood her feelings, but other times she remembered the confusion on her face and her frustrated sighs. Miyun had a heavy heart thinking about her (which was really quite often).
It took her so long just to text her back. This invitation was the first message she ever sent her. Weeks had gone by since they met, and every time Mi-yun went to text her... she deleted it. Only herself and her fear of rejection stopped her, and only today she'd gotten the courage to send the invitation. It was possible that Caia had forgotten about her by now and that she would never show up... but she had to hope. Or at least, she wanted to.
She checked the time again and it was five minutes until 3. She looked around and only a few girls in the distance were present, but none of them were Caia. She sighed and looked at the text again. Maybe she should have just asked...

▲ It was 2:30 pm when Caia dropped her belongings down on her bed. The day had been pretty uneventful. She woke up at 6 am and went for a run. After that, she returned to her (fortunately) empty dorm room, showered, and headed to class. She spent most of her lectures daydreaming and rushed her way through violin practice during her free period. There was nothing necessarily bad about the day, but the urge to fall back into bed had followed her through her entire schedule. The dark-skinned girl lazily flopped down onto her bed and retrieved her phone from her pocket, which had been surprisingly quiet for the day. Normally she’d be getting flooded with pictures from her parents and updates from her family in the Philippines, at least in the early hours of the day, but she hadn’t felt her phone vibrate or heard a ring all day. Quiet days came every now and then though, so it wasn’t all that strange. She pressed the home button on her phone, expecting to check the time before dozing off for a few hours, but was instead met with the site of at least a dozen notifications. Texts, social media updates, missed calls, etc. The girl blinked and swiped at the screen before thumbing through all of the notifications. Most were things she normally might look at before ignoring, like the numerous pictures her father sent of breakfast, or the sunrise (really, whatever he could manage to capture now that he was getting used to smartphones). One thing stood out though, and that was a text from “Miyun Seonu ♥”, a name that raised flags in her mind. Her eyes scanned the preview of the text for a moment, and she quickly tapped it to display the full message: ◀ | Hi~ Come holiday shopping with me today! I'll be waiting by the gate at 3!

LAIKA OF GANGNAM STYLE Before seeing the message, Caia was sure she read their previous interaction wrong. Miyun hadn’t texted her back, not even an “lol” or “k”, and it made her seem uninterested, despite how eager she seemed when they went their separate ways. Caia would have just given up on seeing the other girl again, but she couldn’t shake the thought that such a clumsy girl might have entered a digit or two wrong when giving out her number. Whatever the case was, she had been hoping to at least bump into the girl in the halls at some point to possibly get an explanation. But fortunately there was no need to wait for that now. Sure, she was still curious about why it had taken so long for her to text, but there was no time to dwell on that. Unless she wanted to be late out of spite. But Caia easily pried herself from her bed. There wasn’t much time before they were supposed to meet, but she still wanted to use what little time she had left to at least tidy herself up a bit. She changed out of her disheveled school uniform, opting for a charcoal knit sweater and fitted jeans, two of the only things that weren’t piled up on her desk or in the area surrounding her bed. She then threw on a light coat and headed out in a rush, only checking her appearance in the mirror in passing. Caia didn’t stop jogging until she made it a few yards away from the gate where Miyun stood waiting for her. Obviously out of breath by then, she slowed her pace as she approached the other girl, lifting her hand in a subtle wave and offering a small smile. ”Yo.” She glanced at her watch while keeping her hand raised. It was 2:57, much to her surprise. Mi-Yun Seonu ● 6 3 8 ● notes: wasn’t sure if it was a school day, so I just made it Friday. >w> MADE BY VEL OF GS

As soon as she looked up from her phone Caia was standing before her. Her eyes lit up and she let a smile spread across her face. "You came!" She chirpped, hopping on her toes a little. "I'm so happy!"
The brunette put her phone in her small purse hanging from her side and gently pulled at her skirt. "Okay so," she took in a breath, "There's a lot of cute stuff in the store downtown because its almost Christmas, I thought we could go there- and then we can stop by the new ice cream shop I heard about last week! Hopefully they're open this late... but I have a big list so it will be a lot of fun- don't you think??" Mi-yun smiled at Caia as she rambled quickly though her little speech. Staring at her reminded her how pretty Caia really was. She pulled at the ends of her hair to distract her thoughts.
"L-let's go!" She reached out towards Caia's hand to grab it before hurrying out the front gate and down the steps towards town.

▲ Caia was a bit surprised by how excited Miyun was to see her, and it showed on her face. She figured things would be awkward after their first encounter and had planned to avoid the subject all together to change that, but now she could see there was no need. All too quickly, she went from thinking she teased the poor girl too much and that maybe the girl wasn’t uninterested, maybe even intimidated by her. Now she was sure her enthusiasm said otherwise, and Caia couldn’t help but return the contagious smile. She soon found herself completely consumed by the girl rattling off at the mouth with today’s agenda, and she stared down at her holding her half-smile, her head nodding to show she was somehow taking all of the girl’s words in. “Sounds good to me.”Before she could get any more of her words out, she felt Miyun take her hand and she calmly returned the grasp, holding Miyun’s hand while the other stayed tucked in her pocket and allowed herself to be tugged along. Her expectations for the trip weren’t very clear. She assumed they’d visit a few stores and pick up a few things here and there. Unfortunately for her, she wouldn’t be able to make it to the Philippines for the holidays, so she had only needed to buy gifts for her parents and that task was completed. She was still sure to carry some cash on her, in case something came up, but she didn’t have “personal holiday shopping” available as an excuse to go shopping with Miyun. Granted, she didn’t think there was an issue with joining her simply because she was interested in her. Miyun was the one to invite her, after all. As they started down the sidewalk, Caia took advantage of the hand holding to stick close to the girl’s side without letting go. Her gaze wandered, observing the area as they walked. ”So… Any idea what you plan on buying?” She asked in an effort to make small talk and draw attention away from their hands. MADE BY VEL OF GS

keep on dreaming even if to breaks your heart, even if it leaves you alone
As they reached the bottom of the hill Mi-Yun was sure Caia would let go of her hand. She was even expecting her to pull away as they hurried down... but she didn't. Even now, as the two paused at the bottom so Mi-Yun could see where to go next, Caia didn't let go. Mi-Yun did her best not to look like a bright red cherry. She had no idea if it was working. But maybe she could just blame the cold...
She froze for a moment, knowing she needed to reply to her question but not knowing what to say. Her head was feeling light, she had been thinking about this plan for so long now, like it was a silly fantasy a girl would think about in class and never act upon - but here they were. Caia's hand was so cozy in hers... but wait! She had to reply! Act... casual...
"THERE!" She hollered in a hurry and took off towards one direction. Wherever they were going there had to be a store... right?!
She led herself and Caia around a corner at a high speed pace for really no reason at all. Eventually, she spotted somewhere they could go. She stopped abruptly in front of a little store with a sign above it; 'Candle Shop'. She smiled over at Caia, trying not to look like she was breathing too hard. "Yeah, here. Candles are good presents, don't you think?"
Mi-Yun held the door for Caia first before walking in herself. Inside was mostly wooden shelves lined with so many candles and all different scents. The smell of the store was almost overwhelming. But everything was decorated with fake snow, small hanging lights, and paper cut snowflakes. The shop owner smiled and gave a little "welcome," before going back to what she was doing.
Mi-Yun watched Caia carefully. Did she like candles? Or hate this place? Secretly, this date wasn't about shopping at all...

▲ Caia couldn’t help but glue her eyes on Miyun as she continued tugging her along with a frenzied expression. She would have thought the other girl was simply in a rush by how quickly she moved, but the distinct tint of her cheek made her more transparent than she probably wished to be. If holding hands was enough to light a fire under her, she could only imagine what would happen if she put even the smallest amount of effort into teasing Miyun. Her innocence was charming in its own way though. Caia kept a quick pace until they made it to their destination. The scent in this place was quite strong to say the least, but exactly what she would have expected from a candle shop. Were candles something that most girls liked, or was Miyun simply here to get a specific gift for someone? Regardless, Caia examined the different displays set up around the shop, then smiled warmly and nodded her head in approval. Truthfully, she wasn’t big on candles herself and, again, didn’t have anyone to shop for. She was just satisfied with her company. Caia nodded her head in the direction of the shop owner in response to the quick greeting. ”This place seems nice.” she said, her hand staying clasped with Miyun’s. MADE BY VEL OF GS
