NOTES it begins! | "Finally," Kurou smirked and broke free of the school building that held her captive all day. Both doors swung closed behind her making the girl following her nearly drop the book in her hand. Kurou didn't even notice, and if she did she would have laughed anyway. All that was on her mind now was the freedom.
The raggidly dressed singer enjoyed the feel of the spring wind on her face for just a moment, taking in how it felt to be back at school again. Most of her friends from last year had not returned (or had been asked not to return), and the ones that did were not the ones she favored. It appeared she needed to make new connections if she was to have any fun this semester. All day she'd kept an eye out for ones who may catch her attention. Only a few managed to do so, but by now she'd lost sight of them and may have forgotten what they looked like by tomorrow.
The pink haired delinquent made her way over to her favorite spot on campus - the gazebo. It was a large wooden structure with benches along the inside, and it was the perfect place to stretch out and claim as her own. Putting both her legs up across form her and leaning back against one of the pillar, Kurou closed her eyes. She had quite the pile of homework and a big mess of a room waiting for her, so the only logical way to handle it all was to take a nap.
Time passed, who knows how much time, and it was nearly dark now. Kurou woke with a start and jumped to her feet. She glared her blue eyes around the barely-lit campus. Someone was close-by, she could feel it. But not being able to see them made her nervous. It was a bad day to leave her knife at home. If she had to, she could fight and use just her body tactics. It's proved to work in the past.
"Who is it?" Kurou called, sounding more annoyed than scared. She crossed her arms and shifted her weight to one hip. "Get out here." |

Sparky sighed and curled her hand around the handle on a picnic basket. Bless this night, it was so darn pretty out, with the sun setting! It looked wonderful! No way she was going to miss this! Sparky grinned like a fool and slipped out the back of her dorm, holding the basket.
Prepared in the wicker thing was a simple meal for one--or two, because Sparky was feeling hungry, and so she wanted to be sure she had everything taken care of. Within the basket? A damn feast for the girl. Sparky grinned to herself again.
Hell yeah. Rolls with seasoned and honeyed ham upon them. A little bowl full of brisket which she had prepared with her own recipe--the chef was just overjoyed for the opportunity offered here. Sparky even'd gotten a dang good place picked out beforehand, the Gazebo -- she wanted that, alright, wanted to set out her food--complete with a cherry crumble made by her friend, a baker, and juice--and eat, take her time, savor her food!
As Sparky began to leap up the gazebo steps, a voice boomed out of the near-dark, and Sparky shrieked and held out her picnic basket, her eyes slowly adjusting to this area--"AH! I'm--I'm--I came out here to eat, you know? I don't mean any harm!" Her voice chittered nervously and she grinned the wide, submissive grin that she was well known for. "...why were you sleepin' outside? I'm guessin' that was what you were doin'." Sparky trotted closer pretty fearlessly now, and regarded the girl before her.
Sparky's smile twitched a little, just a little, because oh no, she's hot.

NOTES ;D | It took a minute but finally Kurou's eyes adjusted to the dim light that surrounded the gazebo. Blue eyes scanned the stranger up a down - a short yet curvey girl stood in front of her with tied up brown hair and wide eyes. She was nothing less than adorable, and Kurou's gaze softened at her sight. The scared expression on her face made the pink-haired girl chuckle and let go of her crossed arms. No reason to look tough now, she didn't have to fight. Quite the opposite - she was surprised by a beautiful girl.
"Well, I was sleeping," Kurou tilted her head a little, "But not to worry - it was getting late anyway." The darkness surrounding became lighter as the street lights for the school walkways turned on. The glowing orbs barely reached inside the gazebo, but it was better than nothing. She walked closer to the girl, putting her face inches away. "I suppose I should thank you." Her voice became quieter and more wispy as she spoke with the girl. She did have truth behind her words, as she might have slept through the night in that gazebo. That would have surely looked strange to those walking to class in the morning. It wouldn't have been the first time either. "Oh and you brought me dinner? You're too sweet," Kurou smiled and place a hand on her cheek gently before winking, letting her know she was teasing. It was too tempting not to play with the girl. She was perfect size and stature to do so, and definitely new since Kurou hadn't seen her last year. She was certain she would have noticed her.
Swiftly turning away, Kurou went back to take a seat on the bench. Proceedingly she put one foot up and rested her arm on her knee. "I guess I can let you stay, if you share," she darted her eyes from the girl's to the basket to the girl's again. While sleeping she completely missed dinner so her stomach was growling at just the smell of whatever was in the basket. At this point she didn't care what it was, but she definitely wanted it.
Kurou watched the girl carefully and waited for her answer. She appreciated her looks in the meantime.

Sparky's eyebrows shot up as she was--erh, pretty sure the girl was looking her over. Wasn't quite sure, though, so she didn't blush, er, too hard. Instead, Sparky took a moment to look over the strange girl again. Yeah, oh dang, she --she looked pretty tough! Sparky gave her another look. Yeah. Pretty good looking too. If she weren't being looked at Sparky would preen, adjust herself a bit, look nice, y'know, no big deal, just--gettin' ready and whatnot, lookin' nice.
Yeaaaah.
Be smooth, girl, be smoo--"But it's daaark out. You f'real? What if some--I don't know, animal started--chewin' on you or something?! My sister said she seriously saw a few strays the other day." It wasn't a cold night, out. Or a bad one. Sparky stood there in that nice tanktop of hers, white and standout against the dark, chest rising and falling excitedly, with shorts--she'd not really expected anyone out or she'd have worn more.
Or be not smooth at all. That's fine. Sparky squeaked quietly when their faces were that close to eachother and her eyes widened, bright blue and her face was, oh, dang, really, really red. Sparky cleared her throat and, to break the awkward moment (that made her blush dark and got her to gulp all heavy) she thrust up the basket between them.
"BRISKETANDBARBECUEAND--"
Sparky clapped a hand on her mouth and practically tossed the basket into the older girl's lap before she sat down next to her. She gulped. "I mean. There's. I made the food in there. The meat? I--I'm a --I'm a chef, sort of, you know, except I focus on meat, and I seasoned it and I made the barbecue in there myself. My own sauce recipe...it's new, and I need to...work on it..."
There.
Recover your cool. She grinned at Kurou and nodded. "Smoked the brisket with some wood I got from my sister." That's right. Don't mention her looks. At all. Be cool. Be cool.

NOTES Nomnom | Kurou caught the basket as it was thrown onto her lap by the brunette. The underneath was warm and it smelled absolutely delicious. Her mouth watered as she made her best attempt to listen to the words coming out of the girl's mouth. A bunch of chef blah blah that she couldn't understand, but she did pick up on the reason why she was here. Kurou moved her blue eyes back to the girl beside her. "Oh a chef, hm?" she admired. She'd never actually talked to any of the culinary students here. They seemed too prissy to have a discussion with - in their tall hats and aprons. She didn't picture this girl as a chef, but the smell from the basket told otherwise.
"Looks like it took a lot of work," Kurou unwrapped the blanket around the food and eyed the meat. Man if she could cook meat like this she would gain a thousand pounds. No doubt that she would love this food, she just felt very lucky to have fallen asleep and woken to the delight of a cute girl with good food in a basket. Her two favorite things.
Hoping she didn't mind, or maybe just not caring, Kurou took chopsticks from the basket and started to dig at the meat calling her name. She put a generous amount in her mouth at once and chewed and swallowed. Her eyes lit up at the taste. The meat was covered in a delicious sauce like nothing she's tasted before. "It's wonderful," she admitted after a few moments. She eyed the brunette again, "I don't think it needs any work. It seems perfect." Her gaze lingered on the stranger's a little too long before looking back in the basket. She took another large piece and shoved it in her mouth.
"Oh," she mentioned, mouth still full. "I'm Kurou, by the way." With a friendly smirk she waited for the other girl to respond, hopefully with her own name.

Even though Sparky'd gotten into the school by cooking, she was nervous. She'd never had someone this...attractive tasting her food. So Sparky reached into her basket and pulled out a small little roll, grabbed a piece of meat, and made a little sandwich. Glorious. And then she saw Kurou eat, and saw her eyes light up, and Sparky puffed her chest out in absolute pride. "I--Oh! Thank you!" The girl smiled widely, and dug her fingers into her shorts once she'd finished her roll.
Her head turned, and her blush was dark.
"I--I was nervous. It's a new thing, my own sauce, you know? So...I wanted--but it's good! So I--" She turned once more and then, oh, there was her name. "Kurou." A nod. A nice name for a nice looking girl but Sparky would never say that. "I'm Sparky--uh, well, that's my nickname, anyways. Actually, I'm Alexandra. But, yeah, call me Sparky." Long introduction, but that was okay, right?
Sparky reached for another piece of meat and went to it with a will, licking the sauce off of her fingers happily. "I'm really glad you like it, Kurou. You know how long it takes to make barbecue sauce? It takes a while." A loooong while.
The first year relaxed into her seat and sighed happily, shifting to get comfortable. This was gonna be a good night.

NOTES Noms | "Sparky? That's a name," Kurou chuckled at the word. She'd never heard it used as a name before, but just after spending a couple minutes with her she could see why it was her nickname. "It's cute, much like yourself." Kurou played off the compliment by sticking more food into her mouth. She saw that Sparky was already a deep shade of red, but it didn't stop her from saying anything flirtatious. She was cute to Kurou and she wanted her to know.
A while passed and Kurou had started to slow down her pace of eating. It felt like the night was going too fast, and she had a feeling that the girl next to her would soon pick up the basket and be back to her room somewhere in the dorms. Kurou frowned into her brisket. Well at least she had a little longer.
"So, you were just going to come eat here alone?" Kurou raised an eyebrow at Sparky. It seemed kind of sad now that she thought about it. Did she have any friends here yet? Did she know anyone? By her scared reaction at Kurou's voice it was clear she wasn't expecting anyone. But then again, neither was Kurou...

Yeah, good, good. Kurou called her by the nickname, and Sparky smiled down into her lap and let her chest puff out slightly. "I--actually got it because I set my hair on fire when I was like six--"
It's cute, much like yourself.
The girl's eyes flicked to Kurou, and she smiled. Be cool and take the compliment--so she did, and tilted her head to respond. "O-oh, thanks. I..." Hm. She was a little more confident now, now that Kurou'd eaten her food, but she wasn't confident. "I...think you're pretty cute too?" It was a statement, and she managed not to stutter, but Sparky looked far from cool, and instead sounded unsure of what she was doing.
She pulled her legs up onto the bench and sat there, her heels on the edge of it, her hands on her knees. The strap of her tanktop fell and her hand caught it, pulled it back up--"Stupid thing. I like the top, it just--I think the straps, y'know, are a little too big. But...it's super-comfortable." She was warming up, now, and feeling good, if that wasn't absolutely clear--her smile was bright and pleased, her nose wrinkled up.
"...w-well, shoot. You make it sound kinda sad when you say it." Her smile was shy, her throat cleared--"But yeah, I was--uhm, comin' out to eat alone, coz like, I dunno, it seemed nice out--"
O--oh, she was probably getting the wrong impression but Sparky cleared her throat and stuttered out--"B-but I'm enjoying your company! So! It was a good idea!"

NOTES shipin it | Kurou let loose a small smile on her lips at the question of a compliment Sparky sent back. She was most happy about the fact that her word didn't send her running to the hills. Secondly it showed she thought fondly of her as well, even if she couldn't say so in her own words. Kurou found that too adorable.
She continued to eat and kept her eyes between the delicious food in front of her and the girl beside her. Her eyes traced from the strap that fell on her shoulder to her kissable neck right up to her blushing face. It was nice to see her finally opening up and talking at a normal pace. The nervous girl she knew before was much more relaxed now, and it started to feel like a real conversation could be held.
As she mentioned how Sparky was coming here alone, she chuckled at the girl's reaction. She covered her face just the slightest with her hand as she laughed. "I'm glad you think so," her laughter faded into words. "I was just thinking of my own luck, that I could wake up to a warm meal and a cute girl." She offered her a lingering glance. "But I believe you said this to me... something about strays around here? Didn't you think of safety before venturing into the dark with strong scented food?" She lifted an eyebrow.

Sparky decided that this was what confidence felt like. Not feeling like an idiot and instead feeling like she was capable of at least trading words with the girl--Sparky craned her neck and stretched, and when she did, her tongue curled, rather like a cat, because the stretch turned into a yawn. The girl caught Kurou's eyes slipping up her neck and that neck then became rather dark and embarrassed, with a twist of her head to hide the blush.
Pft. Kurou was laughin' at her.
Sparky didn't mind though. She'd--sort of tried to be funny? It hadn't been the goal she'd had in mind, what goal, there'd been no goal--so it was okay, right.
Right.
But then Kurou--
"Waking up, huh...warm meal and a cute girl--" Wha--
OH.
Sparky made a rather shy noise in the back of her throat, and twisted, scooted closer, let her side brush up a little against Kurou's. Just a little. Just...yeah. A little bit. Yep. This was how this went. Yeah..."...m-maybe, huh. Maybe you can." Yeah. Smooth, Sparky. Real smooth.
The first-year felt rather pleased and also rather nervous, and she shrugged her shoulders. "I mean...it's not like I'm...doing anything tonight." Then she was asking about the animals and Sparky puffed up a little. "Hey. Hey. They're just strays'n I can always hit 'em away."

NOTES adfhdsjaklcndjak | The pink haired girl stopped suddenly, gazing wide-eyed at the girl. Unless she was misreading - which was impossible because Kurou was always right - Sparky was asking her to stay the night with her. Intentional or not Kurou could feel the girl brush against her arm with her warm skin and scoot closer. This was all she needed to see an open invitation to take things farther. A twinge of a smile hit her lips at the thought.
Turning her head, Kurou's face was very close to Sparky's now. She could see each emotion in her large, beautiful eyes and the small flush still fading on her cheeks. Not being able to hold back Kurou leaned forward and pressed her lips against Sparky's. Gentle at first she kissed her, and then moved her lips slightly to kiss her more intently. Her hand came up from her side and just gently rested against Saprky's jaw, almost holding her there in the moment. Like kissing someone new always did, Kurou felt a warm feeling and didn't want to let go. She was so warm and soft - truly wonderful and innocent.
Finally she pulled her face away from Sparky's and simply offered her a playful smile. "I'd love to stay over," she murmured softly, running her finger tips from the base of her jaw to her chin. She smoothly moved from her position and stood, taking a long stretch. Arms up and back tilted, she showed off just a potion of her hip before returning to normal.
"I say we head back now, before strays get too hungry," she smirked and offered Sparky and hand to stand if she need it. This night would be more pleasant than she thought.

They were close. Really close. Ah--Sparky felt her pulse pick up and she had to bite the inside of her lip. She was gonna do this--! SHE WAS GONNA DO THIS.
Kurou was cool and she'd be--good, right, and--
Oh...the kiss. Sparky tensed for a moment and her eyes flashed wide, but then--mh, Kurou's lips were really nice and so she kissed back, let her lips move against Kurou's. She was...shy about it, couldn't help being shy about it. Sparky gave a small little muffled sound and moved her head back, her face red. She raised up a hand and rubbed it against her cheek--
Nh. Okay.
"Y-yeah." Sparky grabbed her basket and totally didn't look at Kurou's hip there except she did and she pressed in close, before taking a kiss from Kurou, slow and soft and inexperienced.
When she broke that kiss she squeezed Kurou's hand nervously. "G-gentle, though, okay? It's my first--" Her head turned. "First time'n all--so--"
