[attr="class","petit"] [break] [attr="class","petitcontent"] [attr="class","petitcontentstyle"] [attr="class","petitfirstletter"]R eina's room was the equivalent of a hurricane's remnants. Debris, or in her case, literally everything she owned and more, was scattered aimlessly upon the floor in layers and layers of what could only be described as crap. Dirty clothes that had yet to be washed, much of it lost to the messy pit that engulfed the floor, old sketches, art tools that found themselves on the floor at some point, often simply replaced unless crucial to her needs. Needless to say, Reina stopped buying fancy mechanical pencils long ago. Any dreams of becoming a professional basketball player were out of the question as well, for the trash can sat practically empty in the corner surrounded by missed shots and a constant reminder of her perpetual string of bad habits. The mess itself didn't bother her all that much; as embarrassing as it was, Reina had grown used to it. She had the room to herself after all. That was... until today. [break][break] Significant notice had been given that someone would be transferring into her room, but being the way she was, Reina had completely forgotten until it was too late. Cleaning now seemed futile, and more likely than not, her new roommate would be welcomed with a frown and an unnavigable labyrinth of her countless possessions, most of which were probably unnecessary. Doing the best she could with the time she had, Reina cleared her new roommate's side of the room, throwing the excess mess onto her own bed. The big coelacanth plushie didn't seem to be too happy about the intrusion, but it had little say in the matter and soon enough, it was barely visible beneath her wardrobe of clothes that somehow ended up everywhere it shouldn't be. With a deep sigh, the redhead placed her hands on her hips as lavender eyes scanned her side of the room; it looked the same, albeit more condensed than before. [break][break] It wasn't... that bad, was it? he dormitories of Fukui Academy were generally well-maintained and well-furnished, but sometimes, issues tend to fall into the cracks and are missed. Not that Misha minded much, as she only spent a few days in room 302 before she was to move next door to 301 once it was found that there was a few cracks in the floors and walls that needed to be taken care of in the room, as well as some readjustment to rooming assignments due to the new school year. It was early morning on a weekend when Misha got the letter that she was going to be moved into a new dorm room, complete with information on her new roommate and a copy of the key to the door. Thankfully, the large majority of Misha's things were still packed away in a giant duffle bag and the Russian only had to pack a handful of electronics into a large backpack, and several dresses and dress shirts into a suitcase, leaving out one pure-white collared long-sleeved skirt and a golden jumper skirt for her to change in to. With her luggage packed, Misha quickly changed out of her sleepwear and took her white-and gold cane to her side, then dragged her belongings into the hallway before closing the door behind her. At first, Misha knocked on the door, but then realized that perhaps the room could be empty if this Reina was a morning person the way Misha was. Not waiting for a response, Misha took the key out of her dress pocket and opened the door. There was an amused smile on the Russian's face as she discovered that there was still someone inside and left the door swinging open with the key still in the lock in order to put her cane to the side and bow in greetings. "Ah, please pardon the intrusion. I, Shirayama Misha, am now here," the baker said with a confident smile. "You must be Naoki Reina-san, correct? I shall be be your roommate for this year. Oh, right, before something happens to them, please, give me a moment."Misha took a step back to sling her backpack over one shoulder and the duffle bag over the over before taking the handle of her suitcase and rolling it in. As she rolled into the room, Misha could easily guess which side was hers, setting down her gear once more and kneeling at the duffle bag. "I suppose the administration caught you by surprise as well, Naoki-san?" Misha asked, pulling out a tea set from the duffle bag and setting in on the nearby desk. "I am in no rush to unpack, as I barely unpacked before needing to be moved, though if you would like to get work done before a bit of tea I am amicable to that as well."tag(s): Reina Naoki ━ words: 482 ━ notes: homecoming tea go

Okay, maybe it was still a mess, but at least now it was a nice mess designed to impress(or, well, Reina was impressed by it considering the way it used to be). And before she knew it, said door swung open with an audible 'click' to reveal platinum blonde and cloudy blue. Shirayama Misha, a girl who stood much taller and much brighter than she. Her voice was that of the flowers bloomed in Spring, light and charming and brimming with color. Her smile was confident and for a moment, Reina felt as if she'd been blessed by the heavens above; then, she remembered her first impression towards this seemingly wonderful girl would be her cluttered room and a lopsided smile. [break][break] "Mhmm, that would be me..." Reina muttered in response, watching curiously as Misha shuffled inside and pulled something out of her duffle bag – was that a tea set? Perplexed, the redhead stood there in silence for a moment, staring at the items with awe. That was... unexpected, to say the least. Her new roommate certainly knew how to make an entrance, and there was a refined, almost elegant air to the way she spoke that left Reina wondering if she'd been lucky enough to room with a princess. "Nice to meet you Shirayama-san, I... wasn't expecting you to arrive so soon, please forgive me for the, uh," Gesturing to the unkempt side of the room, Reina offered a sheepish smile. "it isn't usually like this." Well, that was a blatant lie. [break][break] Oh, she wished the administration caught her by surprise. At least then, she'd have an excuse for being unprepared. It was at times like this that Reina's laziness truly backfired in the worst ways, but hey, what can you do. "Something like that." She returned with a nervous laugh, scratching the back of her neck before turning her attention back to Misha and her tea set. Rigorously cleaning in front of someone she's only just met; wasn't that a little rude? Grabbing a few more loose papers and dropping them aimlessly on her desk, Reina shook her head. "I can do it later. If you don't mind, that is." Perhaps she'd have an opportunity later on if her roommate had someplace to go. It wouldn't hurt to clean things up a bit, even if they'd just revert back to this in a week or two. Points for trying, right? "So, is there a reason you transferred rooms?" isha noted the sheepish smile and the nervous laugh that her new roommate had, and was rather amused by it, noting that perhaps her roommate was not exactly the most orderly person in the world. The rather motley collection of material on the other side was clearly something just piled on, but Misha couldn't blame her. After all, she had the room to herself, so why not make as much use of the space as possible? Beside, Misha had dealt with messy rooms before, often trying to get her younger cousin Yuki to clean up after herself. "I do not mind the postponing the cleanup, especially since we shall be needing to clean up after our tea afterwards anyways," Misha said in her clam and collected tone as she fillied a water heater with using a water bottle from her backpack before plugging it into a nearby outlet. "As for my room, myself and my roommate reported a crack in the flooring and the window wall. We believed it was nothing major, but on closer inspection, the damage was more than we thought it was. And if they were going to relocate us to do the repairs, they found no reason to relocate us then move us back again."With the water boiling, Misha reached into her duffel bag again, pulling out a few individually-wrapped rice crackers and setting them onto the tea set. There was to be no ceremony for it, mainly because Misha was not exactly practiced in it, though she still prepared the cups and snacks such that they were not strewn about lazily. "I suppose I should cook some breakfast as well soon," Misha remarked as she opened up the container of matcha. "But that can be after we sort everything out here. Do you mind green tea, Naoki-san?" With a pause, Misha looked up from the tea set and to her roommate. "Ah, and before that, do you prefer to be called Naoki-san, or is that too formal for you?"tag(s): Reina Naoki ━ words: 331 ━ notes: 300-ish is my usual length

[attr="class","petit"] [break] [attr="class","petitcontent"] [attr="class","petitcontentstyle"] [attr="class","petitfirstletter"]P ostpone... so 'the cleanup' was still going to happen at some point. That was to be expected, sure, but Reina wasn't exactly ecstatic about it. Looking at the sheer amount of it all was rather discouraging, and it would be a lie to say she wasn't hoping that tea time would last forever – or at least long enough for her to come up with a feasible excuse for further procrastinating her responsibilities. "Sounds good." She replied with a fake smile, inwardly dreading what was soon to come. [break][break] Ohhh, a crack in the window wall... the thought of the insects it might invite in sent a shiver down her spine. Maybe later on, Reina would do a quick check of their own wall, you know, just to be sure. "That must've been a pretty big inconvenience, they should really check all of the rooms before they allow students into them..." Reina commented, her voice trailing off as she watched Misha fish some snacks out of her bag. It felt like she was attending some sort of formal tea party; she'd never been to one, but the redhead could only assume it involved a fancy tea set and some cute little crackers and other assorted snacks. "Did you get along with your old roommate?" Reina asked in favor of small talk, and a bit of curiosity on whether or not poor Misha had moved from a tidy, organized room to... this. [break][break] "I don't mind at all, thank you." Tea was never really her forte, but all in all, Reina wasn't too picky. Ohhh, breakfast sounded nice. She wasn't the best at cooking, and normally opted to go out and pick something up, or just skip breakfast as a whole. "You enjoy cooking?" She asked, quickly following up with an answer to Misha's next question. "Ah, well, I suppose Reina is fine... if you want, that is. I-If you don't, that's cool too." Nice, nice, way to make that awkward. She cleared her throat, regaining a shred of her composure before continuing. isha is acceptable," the Russian replied, not minding the awkward situation. With the water boiled, she added the tea into the strainer and poured the water into the teapot. "Despite appearances, I do not mind being so informal, especially if we are going to be living together for a bit. Please give a tea a moment, it is almost ready."Since tea would have to wait just a little longer, Misha decided to stack unpacking. First was the things that needed to be in the closet, and from the suitcase came a few simple yet elegant dresses. Among the articles were a few rustic European garments, including the dirndl which was she was infamous for using back in her hometown. Each of them were hung up as Misha multitasked by continuing the conversation. "Regarding my former roommate, we parted with no grudges, though it might be better said that we hardly interacted with each other. Truthfully, with all the fuss with moving in the first time, I did not even have the chance to have tea with them. Please do not think poorly of them."Misha's request included a glance and an emphatic smile to Reina before she continued to unpack. Next were the rest of the clothes that were neatly folded inside the suitcase. The first ones out were several sets of school uniforms which were placed into a dresser shelf all to their own, followed by her personal casual clothes. More blouses and dresses, rather conservative yet not drab. From her training in the shop, Misha was able to unpack at a rather rapid pace. "As for cooking, well, it is hard to describe. I enjoy baking, not simply for the joys of the kitchen, or the science of behind the recipes, but rather...the end product. Making people happy. As far as my skills go, food is the easiest way for me to do that. Speaking of which."
Even though the suitcase still had clothes to relocate, Misha headed to the tea set to poor herself and Reina a cup of tea, offering her roommate her cup and giving a spirited but well-mannered cheer. "To our health, and good fortune." tag(s): Reina Naoki ━ words: 365 ━ notes: Short and sweet

[attr="class","petit"] [break] [attr="class","petitcontent"] [attr="class","petitcontentstyle"] [attr="class","petitfirstletter"]E ven after all this time, Reina still had yet to truly get accustomed to the idea of living with someone else. Okay, well, technically she had that back in Tokyo, but family didn't count. To share so much with someone and have them there to welcome you home each day... okay. Maybe that was too much, too far. Definitely, those thoughts were bad for her heart that was so easily swayed with the fluffiest of ideas. This was school, and they were here to learn and to grow in their respective fields, nothing more. Misha was cute, though, she seemed very proper and kind. And honestly? Reina wouldn't mind tea time every day. She nodded, her face blessed with a light smile. "You're right." She replied simply, relaxing a bit as the tea's aroma lingered in the air, hushing her anxiety with a familiar fragrance. [break][break] It felt invasive to watch Misha unpack her things, but lavender eyes were quickly drawn to some rather extravagant clothing that made her feel severely under dressed, her own wardrobe consisting of nothing nearly as fancy as those. Did Misha always wear those sort of clothes? Wasn't it a pain to get in and out of so often? The redhead pondered to herself as she listened to Misha speak about her old roommate, who it seemed didn't have the time to make that much of an impression. "That's understandable. I'm sure it must've been stressful for the both of you, having to move around so much in such a short period of time, with academic studies on top of that..." [break][break] "I'm sure they are. Happy, that is." A reason like that was sweet, just like what came out of the oven. Reina had never tasted them, or even seen them, but someone with such pure motivation was sure to succeed. Hopefully she would be able to try some eventually though, because who didn't enjoy homemade sweets? "I'd love to try them some time, if... i-if that's okay with you. Can you make cheesecake?" Reina had tried once. Once. Something about 'cheese' and 'cake' didn't mix well together when she attempted to bake herself, and she was sure there was some type of magic involved between the beginning and end of the process because boy, she'd never tasted a cheesecake like that before. [break][break] Reina took the offered cup, lightly blowing on it as she held it in both hands, playing along with Misha's little cheer. "And to the walls," She added with a soft chuckle, taking a sip of the warm tea. Ahhh, that was nice. [break][break]

hrough a few careful sips, Misha drank her tea. The Macha she had brought was a gift from a long-time patron; not too fancy but above the usual off-the-shelf quality. As the Russian drank, she observed her new roommate. Truthfully, this was Misha's first time living with someone who was not family or family friend, but as far as the baker could tell, there was nothing to be concerned about...except perhaps for the pile of material on the bed that Misha eyed briefly. In the short glimpse that Misha was able to get, she could make out some plain but not drab clothing mixed in with various art supplies and scraps of paper. Signs of an eccentric artist, either a painter or graphite, yet it was not enough detail for Misha to parse out anything conclusive, other than the fact that unpacking her own luggage was not the only housekeeping to be done today. But that would be handled in time, now was time to get to know each other. "Cheesecake?" Misha echoed, setting down her cup on the nearby table. "I can definitely make those. Granted, I do need to buy some ingredients for it. I hope you do not mind accompanying me to the store to get it?" There was a hint of a wry smile mixed in with Misha's usual cheerful demeanor as she pulled the chair from her side of the desk next to the table, then doing the same with Reina's chair, making a very impromptu seating setup. It was no Versailles, but it was good enough for Misha to take a seat in and continue with her tea. "Please take a seat. I find having tea and snacks while standing tends to make situations more awkward than necessary."
Misha gestured slowly for Reina to sit down before continuing to speak. "The letter regarding my move was rather sparse in detail, nothing more than your name and phone number. So please, pardon my curiosity for a short while, and feel free to ask my questions in return." Misha paused as she poured herself another cup of tea for herself and for Reina. "And so, with that, I ask, what is the art that you are studying here?"

"Of course, of course." She didn't mind paying for it too, since Misha would likely be doing all the work, even if Reina offered to help. She was nothing but a hindrance in the kitchen, she knew that much by now. "Um, when did you want to go?" Maybe she was jumping the gun but to be quite frank, she didn't do a whole lot outside of the usual classes. No clubs or other extra curricular activities meant a lot of time for other frivolities like the manga stashed away beneath her desk – hidden to the best of her ability – and the sketchbooks that were spread across it. So, all in all, the redhead had more than a little bit of free time on any given day, not that she'd really want to advertise that fact, though. [break][break] And then Misha pulled their chairs to the table, and as Reina sipped her tea, she felt her cheeks heat up. Ah yes, standing while you drink tea... the picture of nobility and grace, surely. She muttered a lame "Oh..." before following suit, placing her cup on the table before rushing to sit, anything but elegant at this point, not that she ever was to begin with. "S-Sorry, thank you." She fumbled out, recovering as she listened to Misha mention the scarcity of information given by the administration. [break][break] "Painting, primarily. I've been branching out since I got to this school, trying new things and the like, but for the most part I've found solace in scenery painting." The redhead began, her lavender gaze briefly drawn to the window. "The sights here in Fukui are breathtaking, honestly. It would be a shame not to replicate those fleeting moments on a blank canvas." The very last breath of sunset, the first ray of sunshine after a particularly rainy day. The rocky shores especially, absolutely stunning in their unique geological formations, though she'd only made a trip there once. "You said you had an interest in baking, right? Are you studying in the culinary arts here, or is that just a hobby?" [break][break]

e can go any time after classes, Reina-san," Misha interjected as Reina sat down, adding. "At the moment, my schedule is rather free." Truthfully, she did have a few things that would pop up, such as Sophie's and Hara's productions sometime in the coming month, as well as the promise to watch Orenda's upcoming movie whenever she completed it. Then Nao was liable to ask for another get-together for baking. Still, she was confident she could squeeze in a shopping trip and baking session for Reina. Misha finished her cup again as Reina started to talk about her art, glad to put aside the tea so that she could completely focus on her roommate. Though brief, the way Reina seemed to passionately describe her affinity for painting put a smile on Misha's face. The Russian had heard of the eccentricities of visual artists, and perhaps the haphazard manner of organization she saw from Reina was part of it. Of course Misha planned on enforcing some level of cleanliness, but was a bit more willing to cut Reina some slack. Nevertheless, Misha was rather heartened by Reina's passion. Then the question was reflected back to her, and for a moment, a look of surprise flashed on Misha's face before she quickly recomposed herself. "My apologies for the earlier confusion," Misha said as she poured herself another cup of tea, checking the teapot afterwards to find that there was at least two cups of tea remaining. "I am here as a culinary arts student, that is correct. My family owns a bakery in Hachioujo City, Tokyo, and I worked in it since I was young. Though my parents made it clear that I did not need to, I still believed that the best way forward for myself is to follow in their footsteps and be ready to take care of the bakery when is it their time to retire. Not that it will come any time soon, mind you."tag(s): Reina Naoki ━ words: 335 ━ notes: What a week >_< sorry~

Good, good, Reina hated having to intricately plan around busy schedules, it was always so much work. She wasn't lazy per se, she just disliked putting more effort into things than necessary. Okay, admittedly that didn't sound too great and the redhead wasn't quite sure which was worse. Eh, it was fine, surely. "I should be finishing my last class, uh," Reina gingerly placed her cup on the table before leaning the chair back on two legs as she reached for her phone that lie barely within her reach on the desk, struggling to keep her balance as she swiftly snatched it up and leaned the chair back to its normal position with a content sigh. The time that lit up on her phone was earlier than she would've liked to be awake, but hey, what can you do. "Late afternoon, maybe?" [break][break] When it was Misha's turn to speak, Reina went back to taking little sips of the tea, noting that she would soon need to refill it. A bakery in Tokyo? That sounded rather exciting, and she silently wondered if she'd ever passed by. Probably not given the location, but it was a thought. "That sounds nice. So it's something you've always wanted to do?" It was always nice to have a dream, or at least some kind of goal to work towards. Reina herself wasn't all that sure what exactly she wanted to do in the future, but she was sure she'd figure out something eventually. "I'm from Tokyo too, actually. Maybe I'll come visit some time..." She shrugged, fiddling with the handle of her cup. "I dunno, during break or something. I-I mean, you know, maybe." t was time to make more tea, and Misha politely asked to be excused as she stood up and and prepared a fresh batch of tea leaves and refilled the pot to let them steep. In the meantime, she listed to Reina figured out her schedule. Late afternoon will work, so long as her cousins did not have a sudden craving for anything. "If the late afternoon works for you, then I would say about 5 o'clock tomorrow should be agood time for us," Misha suggested. It was better to block out a time now and then try to work around it, as experience taught her. "We can meet at the front gate of the campus before walking into town."Misha's arrangement was only a suggestion, and did not expect an immediate answer to it, especially as she sat back down in time to learn about Reina's history. The Russian was not surprised that Reina was Tokyo. A large portion of the country's population was in Tokyo, including much much of her family and a few of the classmates she had so far befriended, some even being from Hachiouji. However, Reina never specified where in Tokyo she was from, and Misha was in no mood to pry further, focusing only on her question. "I always wanted to help people. Running a bakery is one way, and the way that will satisfy me for the time being," was Misha's succinct summary. Of course, there we other was for being a force of good, but the path that her biological parents follow was one Misha was reticent to take, given their tragic fate. "By all means, come and visit us. I go home with my cousins to Tokyo every now and then. You are free to travel with me, of course."tag(s): Reina Naoki ━ words: 304 ━ notes: Don't worry. 200-word posts are fine too!
