MADE BY ★MEULK OF THQ | Hinata bit her thumb and stared at the piece of paper in her hand. She stood stiff as a board and glanced between the paper and the room number on the door. The numbers matched. This was indeed the empty class room they were being allowed to use the official “office” of the student council. Misha was probably already inside since there was talk of preparing tea. However, it was still a bit early and so Hinata could afford to take a moment to steel herself.
Despite not even being in Fukui for a year, she already found herself in position of student council president. It wasn’t her idea. A classmate nominated her. And while normally, she’d speak up for herself, that somebody trusted her with responsibility like that meant she didn’t want to turn it down. She certainly put her all into the campaign once she knew she had to go through with it, but it still surprised Hinata that she, of all the girls, had won. It almost felt like a joke to her. Then again, she was 100% certain that if Misha had run for president instead of VP, she would have lost to Misha handily. Regardless of if she had earned it or not, Hinata still knew she had a job to do.
In particular, one of the first orders of business was for Hinata and Misha to figure who all would actually make up the rest of the council. They’d gotten volunteers already, some who had run and some who hadn’t. One such applicant was Kyoko Kitamura. Hinata didn’t know much about her other that she did painting. Considering that Misha did culinary arts, and Hinata did musical arts, Hinata figured that somebody with the visual arts major would be useful so they could better represent and address the needs of the entire student body. Hinata and Misha decided that they’d need to meet up and talk to each potential member personally in the “office” before approval. Though Hinata really doubted it’d be a grueling review process.
She’d had to get over the shock. She took a deep breath and relaxed her shoulders. Looked though her bag to make sure she add all the notes and papers she needed and then put on her best smile. Finally, she reached for the door, ready to meet her VP and this new potenital member. The Fukui student council would soon begin operation.

Welcoming tea was a Kitamura family tradition, or rather one of the very few relics that Haru Kitamura and her sisters brought with her after leaving the family. It was good for first impressions and trying to make friends, and if nothing else, being friends with someone who you were going to work with for a good part of the year was a good idea. At first, Misha was very much against the notion of taking a leadership position. Sure, she was rather popular with the students and she had the knack for leadership, but an irrational fear had burned inside her mind for the first two years she was at Fukui; she rather would not risk the same fate as her parents. But on the other hand, being a leader of the people, even if it was a small student body, was what her parents would have encouraged her to do. It's what they did as a family. So to compromise, Misha opted to run for Vice President. Not that it had less duties, it did in spades, but that the honor, albiet dubious in Misha's mind, of being the leader was off her. With a sigh, pale fingers poured out two cups of tea, filling the empty classroom with the subtle smell of green tea. Today this tea was for the first meeting with the President, and potentially a new recruit for the council. That only two people were to be elected and the rest appointed was an unorthox arrangement as far as the baker could tell, but when it came to the school, hardly anything seemed orthodox. Meticulously, Misha brought out a few snacks from a small bag branded with the regalia of the Shirayama Bakery and arranged them on a platter. Misha paused to think of what else needed to be done, scanning the empty classroom for any other clues. The sound of chimes broke Misha's train of thought. It was her phone reminding her that it was about time for Hinata to arrive, or at least when Misha expected her to arrive. Pale eyes darted towards the doorway, where two shadows broke the line of orange light that came from the setting sun. Prompt one indeed, especially since there was not much time since classes had ended. Step by graceful step, Misha approached the door, the long dark purple dress skirt flowing around her legs. With a vigorous pull, Misha opened the door. "Konbanwa, Ueno-san." Misha greeted with a composed smile. "It is good to see you. If you are not in a rush to start with business, then please, join me for some tea." A silent step back and slight turn of the body revealed the prepared tea and snacks behind her.

MADE BY ★MEULK OF THQ | Hinata took a quick bow before she entered, as expected. As soon as she pulled her head back up, she raised an eyebrow at being referred to as -san. They were the same age, right? She wasn’t used to having rank over anybody, so it took a second for it register.
“No trouble at all, Shirayama.” Hinata stated softly while shaking her head. “I’ve love to. Besides, Kitamura isn’t here yet, so we have some free time.” Her face returned to the smile and she made her way over to the table.
Hinata got a feeling that wanting to discuss everything over tea wasn’t a coincidence. She was well aware that in Japan, the tea room has been a place of networking and negotiation among the powerful for centuries; from feudal lords, to business men, to current ambassadors. Despite how she hoped she could improve the experiences of the other kids in the school, it wasn’t lost on Hinata that they were basically LARPing as the grown ups. And thus the tea felt like part of the act. Or maybe she was overthinking it.
“You really do want this to feel proper, don’t you?” Hinata looked to Misha and asked as she sat down. But she quickly moved on, clapped her hands together, and did a bowing nod. “Thank you for the treat.” It was time for tea.

Such a casual introduction. Misha was not wont to immediately assign malice to a person. Perhaps Ueno-san was like her cousin Yuki - there was a heirachy, that being Yuki as the boss, but that was technical and everyone in the nakama talked to each other casually. Perhaps it was the far more casual nature of Fukui that was seeping in and it was Misha being out of place with her attitude. Nonetheless, the invitation was accepted and Misha kept her smile. "Ufufu...you are welcome, Ueno-san. One would think it would be a good idea to greet a friend and a partner properly, would they not?" the baker asked with an ojou-sama's chuckle as she followed behind Hinata. Across from where the president sat was a chair that held up a metal cane, porcelain white with gold trims, marking where Misha expected to sit. Taking a teacup and saucoer for herself, Misha continued as she st. "If nothing else, it is good tea and personally-baked goods, all of which I hope are of the kind that do bring some cheer. That said, this is merely a family tradition, we need not be so stiff and formal if that is what helps you." Misha took a sip of her tea before calmly looking over to Hinata with steely eyes, sitting upright and as dignified as she could. "If Ueno-san could permit me a little bit of curiosity, I would like to know more about the president I will be working with throughout the year. I must say that it is a tad ironic that we would have been grilling Kitamura-san and learning more about her when she may not even be with us while knowing rather little about each oter."

“Oh no, it would. It’s lovely. And you’re definitely right.” Hinata’s voice shifted up higher for a second as she responded. “I suppose I just didn’t know what to expect and misread thing a little.” She shrugged hersshoulders.
As Misha looked Hinata straight in the eye, Hinata thought she was getting her first good look her vice president. A sudden sensation hit Hinata. What was that she was feeling? Charmed? Intimidated? Jealous? Maybe all at once? She wasn’t quite sure and didn’t have time to think much about it.
“Yes! We really ain’t been introduced to each other” Hinata snaped her fingers and chimed in as the thought crossed her mind. “Well, I been living in Osaka my whole life before I transferred here. Already kind of miss it, but the old school just wasn’t working out.” That about as much about the trouble at her old school as she would be willing to mention, at least to a total stranger.
“If you follow Go, then I’m sure you’ve heard of my mother, Aoi. She’s a top player.” Hinata had quickly settled into a matter of fact voice as she actually started to talk about herself. “And my sister Nanami has been here at Fukui longer than I have, so you might know her? But unlike her, I’m here for music. I’m told I have a good voice, so I wanted to see what I could do with proper training instead of just karaoke.”
Hinata took a brief pause to start sipping some tea herself. But something about it that could just as easily go unnoticed or catch the eyes was how Hinata held the yunomi tea cup. Her right index finger rested over the rim instead of below it. It was an old habit from she was living as a guy that had never crossed her mind. It was no big faux-paux, but a tad unlady-like.
“As for why I’m sitting here now as president.” Hinata gave a chuckle of her own. It was a little embarrassing but she didn’t see any harm I admitting it. In addition, her tone had grown warmer again “Some classmates suggested I run. And, well, I didn’t want to let them down if they thought I was right for the job. It was kind of flattering. Maybe that’s why I’m nervous about the whole thing? But also, even if it’s just a few policy changes in the school here and here, I liked the idea that I’d be helping to make things better for the other students.”
“But,” Hinata drew out. “What about you?”

Any faux paus that Hinata may have caused at the door was already long-forgiven by the time the president began to talk about herself; as far as Misha was concerned, things were moving smoothly. Misha listened with rapt interest even though the most visible expression was the way her eyebrows seemed to arch in intrigue. With the diapason of classmates she had come into contact with, the baker had little in terms of expectations, but Hinata's story was a relief to hear. An Osakan, a transfer student, trying to polish a latent talent, there was a sense of fascination. As much as she disliked stereotypes, or perhaps because of it, Misha had to push away the notion that Hinata's casual nature, even with the tea, was due to where she was from. And then, it was Misha's turn to tell about herself. "I must apologize and say that I am unfamiliar with the Go circuit, but it sounds like your mother has quite an illustrious career," Misha said, smiling gently as Hinata. "And I must say, it is rather heartening to hear your own tale of how you came to be elected." There was a softy but dignified chuckle that was washed down by a sip of tea. "Truthfully, as much as I enjoy being a sort of guide for others, I am not wont to reach for office. But like you, more than a few classmates suggested that I run, well, truthfully, for your position. But the compromise was to be Vice President. That said, I assure you, I am not here to slough of duty to you, and I will support you as much as I can." There was a face of firm determination on Misha's face, once again looking right into Hinata's eyes. But the moment passed and there was that mysterious smile again. "As for where I am from, well, my story is simple. My family runs the family bakery in Hachiouji City, Tokyo, and I am here to learn so that the bakery continues to flourish." There was a hint of pride in Misha's voice, even though the truth of her family was a bit more convoluted.

MADE BY ★MEULK OF THQ | It comforted Hinata a bit that Misha got caught into for mostly the same reason. But since wasn’t for workload that Misha chose the VP slot, Hinata figured it might have been for not feeling deserving of the top position. That’s why Hinata would have done it. However, Misha’s persona made Hinata suspect humility was the more likely reason.
And while Hinata made sure not to how show it, she was however surprised that Misha’s origins seemed so humble. Just a simple bakery. She had gotten the impression that Misha was a bit more high class. A bit from how Misha acted and also because she knew a lot of Fukui students came from more well off families. But if Misha was so ladylike without being posh, then what was Hinata’s excuse? Hinata again doubted if a girl like her really belonged at a nice school like Fukui. She was lost in thought for a second, but snapped out out of it soon enough. She still had company, after all.
“I bet if you didn’t make that compromise, the presidential campaign would have been a lot more heated.” Hinata said with a hint of excitement in her voice from that what if. She wasn’t confident she would have won against Misha, but it at least would have been more interesting than what actually happened. Then a thought struck her, causing her to smile. “But then we wouldn’t be meeting pleasantly like this, so it really was for the best.” Hinata shifted to a softer, gentler tone.
Hinata had already heard of Misha’s major during the election and thus had that together that the snacks were made by Misha herself. However, the backery being brought up brought Hinata’s attention to them. Her eyes were drawn to a hot cross bun that she quickly put onto her plate. When she took a bite of the white and brown pastry, she close her eyes and let out a hum of satisfaction. The cinnamon and citrus were definitely strong enough for her taste. The apricot jam glaze and sultanas brought sweetness to it, sure, but she even enjoyed that because it blended so well together with the other flavors.
“Wow, ain’t that nice little kick?!” Hinata exclaimed and raised an eyebrow as she lowered the bun back onto her plate. “Looks like I’ll have to give that bakery a visit sometime, Shirayama-san!”

A heated campaign was something that Misha was very much adverse to. Statements of policy, fine. Some debate over methodology, necessary. But all the mudslinging and underhanded tricks that politics was inexplicably entwined in the baker could do without. While she doubted that Hinata was the kind of person to resort to such tactics, just the very thought of handling the song and dance of politics was revolting, though Misha dealt with the feeling by drowning it with a sip of tea, pushing it aside as Hinata changed the subject to the food that Misha had made for the meeting. "Thank you for your kind words, Ueno-san." Misha said as she set down her teacup on the saucer before setting it aside from the table. She had yet to eat anything yet, but it was still a relief to hear that the food was acceptable. "If Ueno-san is ever in Tokyo, you are welcome to visit the bakery at any time. It is across from the Nishi-Hachiouji Station. Of course, I would be more than happy to take suggestions for what to make for future meetings." There was that ojou-sama's chuckle again before a sigh changed Misha's tone to something more relaxed. "That said. indeed it is duty that has caused our paths to cross, but I do think it would be good for both of us if duty was not the only thing that does bring us together. I would not mind having you as a friend outside of student council business. Speaking of which, I am ready to proceed when you are. Though I am afraid that Kitamura-san's arrival will be regardless of if we prepare for it or not." With another soft and suspicious chuckle, Misha looked towards the door, then back to Hinata.

MADE BY ★MEULK OF THQ | “Of course!” Hinata said with a warm smile. “I’d be happy to hang out with you some other time. Besides, when we actually have a full cabinet and issues to take care of, we might not be able to relax like this a lot. ” She dug into her bag for a moment, and pulled out a pen and paper. She the quickly wrote out her phone number onto the paper and handed it over to Misha. There was the nagging thought in the back of Hinata’s head that Misha was just being polite and didn’t really mean any of it. But if even if it was too embarrassing to bring up, she didn’t have all that many friends in Fukui because the transfer basically made her a new kid. So a girl like Misha that seemed so nice was not somebody she wanted to turn down. “There, Shirayama-san, just text or call me up later and we can arrange something.”
“I could have swore we gave her the right room number and time, right?” Hinata followed the question with a sigh. Kitamura was a main reason they were there that afternoon, after all.
Hinata pulled out some papers from her bag, and the cleared her throat. “If we gotta proceed without Kitamura-san, the there’s two things I’d like to bring up.” Hinata pointed to a file she typed for Tsuga that basically amounted to a recommendation letter. “Tsuga Kokeshi of the track team asked me earlier about a spot on the council. “She has my go ahead, but I figure you’d like to see her later.” She then handed over a blank form to Misha. “Second, I wrote up a survey I want to hand out to the student body. Get an idea of their their grievances, concerns, and ideas. Ain’t done nothing like this before, so I’d like you to review over it. Tell me any edits you’d make.”

And so, Misha was able to make another friend, so it seemed. Seeing the phone number on the paper told Misha that Hinata was one to take initiative. That was a good trait to have in a leader. Long and slender fingers pulled the piece of paper towards herself so that she could better see the number as Misha quietly gave her thanks. From the pocket of her long dress skirt, Misha pulled out her phone. Like the cane leaning beside her, it was colored in white, with an image of a full moon surrounded by clouds with the word "обязывает" below it engraved in silver. "This is school council work, we are not deciding the fate of a nation. No lives are at stake here, right?" Misha asked as she entered Hinata's contact information onto her phone. "While one could argue about 'professional conduct' and how being late is a reflection of one's morality, there are more than a million valid reasons why Kitamura-san could be a little late. So give her time." Misha quickly flashed a smile to Hinata before flipping the paper over and writing her contact details on the other side. From the corner of her eye, the baker glanced over the survey. She had mixed feelings over it. There was no fault in Hinata preparing one; in fact, it only served as another example of her superlative initiative. Hinata really did seem interested in her role. But a survey felt...wide like the ocean, deep as a puddle? Not seeing the forest for the trees? From what little she had gleaned from her parents, business owners, her uncles and family friends who were CEOs, they best results came from integrating themselves with the people they were looking over. But that was the far opposite extreme, where so much effort had to be put in for comparatively less data. "Thank you again, Ueno-san, here, my contact information. And I must say, a survey already. We've barely started here we are. Though I suppose in the words of my cousin, 'it's find the problem, solve the problem, not the other way around'" Misha said with a chuckle, pushing the slip of paper across the table and starting to pick up the survey. Pale eyes scanned it rapidly, even as she continued to talk. "Kokeshi Tsuga. A familiar name, if only for it being mentioned to me by my cousin. She had a rather good impression, albeit one of the more eccentric side. I have no quarrel speaking to her at all, rather, I would look forward to it." Misha remarked, her eyes glancing towards the doorway for any sign of visitors.

MADE BY ★MEULK OF THQ | Hinata noticed the Cyrillic text on Misha’s phone even if she couldn’t make out what it said. It wasn’t a surprised. Misha’s look and first already made it obvious. But Misha clearly lived in Tokyo and was part of a Japanese family; Hinata didn’t think too much of it. She knew her parents or even Goro were not particularly fond mixed raced folks or foreigners, though ironically some Okinawan heritage gave Hinata and her father blue eyes that made some folks think they might be ‘hāfu’. So maybe they wouldn’t approve of Hinata being friends with Misha, but she already knew first hand what it was like to be other-ed. Maybe she’d bring the topic up later, but now didn’t seem like the time.
“Don’t get me wrong here, Shirayama-san. I got no delusions that this student council stuff is all that important. Not one bit.” Hinata raised an eyebrow and drew out her words a bit as she responded to Misha. “I’m a little frustrated, sure, but I'm not angry AT her personally over it or anything. It’s fine. You’ll know good and well if I am. Trust me.” She could understood why Misha might had misinterpreted her, especially since they had hardly ever talked before, but still felt a bit lectured and condescended to.
As she grabbed the slip from Misha, Hinata felt oddly satisfied logging the number into her phone’s contacts. It just made it feel a little more official that they were wanting to start a friendship.
“I wanted to have at least something ready ahead of time.” She stated in a rather matter of fact fashion. “Again, this stuff is no big deal. However, it’s still a responsibility and I don’t want to do anything half-way. You know wha-” She stopped herself as she noticed Misha looking at the door. Then she held her hand up and did a quick oujo-sama laugh herself. “Oh ho ho ho! See, you’re feeling impatient too, ain’t you? You keep looking at the door."

Tsuga's apprehension felt awkward to her, although it was perfectly logical when she really thought about it. The track team was structured informally for the vast majority of the time, and no one was really in direct superiority to one another unless discipline needed to occur. An environment where political hierarchy was at the core was something that would be a very stark change for her, or rather, that was what she believed. A nearly thunderous laugh startled her hand away from the door as she was about to enter, the noise easing her concerns, but raising her curiosity in turn. She heard muffled speech beyond the barrier of the door, but there wasn't much she could understand without actually going inside.
Any semblance of impatience from either of the two would be short lived, although they wouldn't be greeted with the face they had expected. Tsuga slid the door open with a sigh, sliding the bag that contained her javelins, track shoes, and spikes against the wall near the door before she turned to the others and bowed deeply. "Sorry for being late. Duties with new track members took much longer than I had anticipated. I'll try my best not to let scheduling conflicts occur again." She raises her posture, reaching into her book bag to remove a small folder, passing off to Hinata. "This is the spreadsheet we use to contact sports club officers, seito kaichou. I figured this would be faster than having to sort through the club rosters or trying to remember names right off the bat."She turns her focus to the blonde. She'd never seen the girl before, but something about her struck her with a twang of familiarity. "I'm Kokeshi Tsuga," the girl says as she bows again. "I hope we can get along well." Kyoko couldn't believe it. How did she let this happen? She was always so careful to make sure she arrived ahead of time, but today - here she was, completely late. Making matters worse was it was the first time she was meeting the President and Vice President, and this was the impression she was giving? And for something as important as the Student Council... It was disgraceful. Her father's voice rang through her ears, 'Punctuality is key to a good first impression.' and 'When you are out in the world, you are representing the Kitamura family. You will do nothing that disgraces that name.' If her father found out about her being late to her first meeting with the Student Council, he would be very unhappy with her.
Kyoko hurried through the hall, wanting to run, but also acknowledging that was improper, which resulted in a quick walk that slowed down whenever other people were around. It didn't really help her get there any faster. When she arrived at the meeting place, she quickly stepped through the door. There were three people there, though she had only expected two. Kyoko had a slight moment of further panic that she had gotten the wrong room too, but she hadn't been specifically told there wouldn't be more people here either so that was likely just the case. She stepped forward to the three and bowed her head low.
"Ah, I am so sorry for my tardiness." she said, keeping her head bowed. She hadn't even joined the Student Council yet and she already messed it all up. She really couldn't believe. Kyoko was so upset with herself.

"Ufufu...Impatient?" Misha asked with her own ojou-sama chuckle as she looked back to Hinata. "I will not deny outright that may or may not be worried about the timeliness of our guests, if only out of keeping in mind other things that may be on my agenda. But you know how irony tends to work, right? As soon as you discuss the tardiness of a person they shall appear as if commande- Oh my." As if on cue, the sound of the door sliding open interrupted the baker, who gestured to the door with a smile, as if to say 'I told you so'. But the gesture did not remain long as Misha stood up, intending to greet the visitor. From her cousin's Mashiro's description, the brunnete in front of her was clearly not Kitamura Kyoko, and by how she so familiarly approached Hinata, Misha could have guessed that it was Kokeshi Tsuga before the verbal introduction. Nonetheless, Misha bowed in return. "Welcome, Kokeshi-san. Shirayama Misha. It is a pleasure to meet you," the baker politely introduced herself before standing up properly. Do not worry about the time, unless you are in rush of course." Misha said, chuckling once more. The baker gestured towards the plate of pastries. "Come, after such work, you must be hungry. Please, get some refreshments. The tea is but a simple green tea, though I hope you enjoy it nonetheless." Another set of footsteps soon echoed into the room, and a moment later, a more familiar sight appeared as Kyoko stepped into the room. Misha stepped away from Tsuga towards her cane, gracefully taking it in her hand as she approached the dark-haired girl who had suddenly bowed low. "Kitamura-san, please, raise your head. We have just begun." Misha said, trying to be as soothing as possible. Once more, Misha turned aside to gesture to where the tea and pastries were. "Please, join us for some refreshments before we get down to business. I baked a few pastries and brought some tea, though I am afraid it is likely the same tea that Mashiro-chan had with you."

MADE BY ★MEULK OF THQ | Hinata put on a big dumb smile on when Misha interrupted and proven mostly right about bringing u tardiness. Though, Hinata blinked when it was Tsuga instead of Kyoko at first. It wasn’t a total suprise, though. She had told Tsuga when and where they were meeting. But the extra track duties from being vice captain just made Hinata think that Tsuga wouldn’t have been able to make it. Still, Misha had taken the surprise of the new guest well. Hinata cocked her head slightly for an instant at being called seitokaichou / student council president. She wasn’t quite used to the title yet. Instead of a proper bow, Hinata gave a small nod as Tsuga came in and handed her the folder. They were already friends, after all.
“Good thinking, Tsuga-chan. I’m sure this will be mighty useful.” Hinata replied with a slight smile as she took a glance through the folder. They would be surely be dealing with the sports clubs a fair bit. For somebody that was running late, Tsuga had surprisingly come prepared. This slightly eased the doubt she was having about bringing a friend on board for the job. Then again, going by the tea with Misha, they’d likely all be friends soon enough.
Hinata going to let the other two talk talk things and have a bit more tea if there hadn’t immediately been another interruption. She put down the folder and took a proper seated bow this time towards Kyoko, who Hinata could already tell was a bit stressed.
“Don’t sweat it, Kitamura-san. Shirayama-san is right; you didn’t miss a thing. We’ll get to business soon enough, for now just have a bun. Anyway, howdy!” Hinata addressed Kyoko in a soft, mellow tone.” She then pointed to Tsuga. “That’s Kokeshi Tsuga. And as you probably guess I’m Ueno Hinata. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” |

She bows to the other girl, raising her head before speaking. "Pleased to meet you, Kitamura-san. I hope we'll get along well too." Tsuga offers a soft smile before nodding to Misha. "I'll have to decline the pastries. As much as I love sweets, and as delicious as they look," she gazes at the plate with longing, "eating them so quickly after practice would make me ill, not to mention it's not the greatest idea for my athletics in general." She slides into a chair near the tea. "I'll have some tea though. Anything for a break from the sports drinks I've been drinking during practice."The warming feeling put the last of her nerves at ease, letting her finally relax around the two girls she didn't know. She smirks at Hinata briefly before breaking into a giggle. "Isn't this ironic, Hinata-chan? This morning I was the one in charge of you, but now it's the other way around." She snorts a bit, smiling. "Guess we're gonna be stuck with each other for a while then, aren't we?" She turns her attention to the other two. "Honestly, if we're going to be running the class together, shouldn't we just drop the formalities and become friends? It'd be a pain if I have to say "seito kaichou" every time I want to suggest something." XOXO SHIN OF GS + THQ

"Sorry, please excuse me." Kyoko apologized again with another bow, "A pleasure to meet you all." Well, they didn't seem angry with her. They didn't have any reason not to tell her off and ask her to leave if they wanted to, so it was a good sign that they were friendly people. That was good, though it only made Kyoko feel worse about the offense. Misha also mentioned Mashiro; Kyoko recalled Mashiro mentioning a her cousin Misha. This must be her then. She had also done Mashiro a disservice by being late as well.
"Thank you." Kyoko said to Misha and then took a seat at the table. She sat straight backed, the folder she was carrying resting on her lap, though her eyes were cast down looking a little dejected. She had thought Student Council would be something her father would approve of but she was already messing it up. If he found out he would be furious with her...
Kyoko sat quietly as the Senpai talked. Tusga was the one she knew nothing about. Based on the fact she seemed so familiar with the President, Kyoko was assuming she was also a third year. She felt a little awkward sitting here with all these upperclassmen.

Misha watched Kyoko take her seat, noting the girl's awkward silence. Behind Misha's attempt to convey a comforting smile, she was reminded of the Pandora's box that was between them. It was Mashiro who first brought up the possibility, and the parallels and details were starting to get too coincidental for comfort. And the worst part was that there was no need for mystery; through her own resources and connections, it was well within Misha's power to learn the truth behind whether or not Kyoko was really related to her. But again, now was not the time for it. Standing where she was, she looked over to Tsuga. "Being able to communicate with each other is paramount, and I understand that formalities tend to add unnecessary barriers. However, like it or not, this office still has to put on an image of sort to the public, lest the rest of the student body get the impression that we do not take out duties seriously." Misha said, starting to walk around the room. Every two of her soft and silent footsteps was followed by a sharp twang of her metal cane vibrating against the floor. "And so, I would put forth this compromise - within this walls we are free to address each other as familiarly as we are comfortable doing. But otherwise, when in public and on official student council business, some level of proper address may be more appropriate. How does that sound, Kokeshi-san?" A final tap of the cane marked the end of Misha's wandering as she pivoted to stand shoulder-to-shoulder beside Hinata. She held her cane out in front of her, both hands resting above the golden band a fourth of the way down that marked it's center of balance. "Ueno-san, when you are ready," the baker said with a calm and cool voice, her pale eyes looking over to Tsuga and Kyoko as if trying to intensely scan them for their reactions.

MADE BY ★MEULK OF THQ | “My oh my, the tides have turned haven’t they?” Hinata playfully said with a smirk back to Tsuga. Then she beamed “And frankly, I don’t don’t mind being stuck with you one bit, Tsuga-chan!” The two had been becoming fast friends. But soon enough the others were talking. And Misha’s tapping of her cane signaled that she was ready to move on and that it was finally time for Hinata to step into her role as student council president.
“Right,” Hinata cleared her throat and addressed the other three girls. She projected her voice, but still tried to sound calm despite the volume “Now I must call to order the Fukui Student Council. First item of business will be on the entry of Kokeshi-san and Kitamura-san into the council. Shirayama-san and I were fixin’ to give Kitamura-san a formal interview. However, since we’re dealing the both of you at once… ”
Hinata paused for a second. Just by reading the room, she felt like they needed a change of plans slightly. Kyoko definitely didn’t look like she was in the mood to be questioned. And Tsuga was already asking for things to be a bit lax. Hinata wasn’t quite sure if Kyoko was just nervous, still upset about being late, or didn’t even want to be there at all. But she’d need to talk to Kyoko about it soon.
“So,” Hinata swiftly continued. “Unless Shirayama-san objects, I reckon we streamline the proceedings a bit. What’s important is that the two of you have an understanding of and agree to all the responsibilities you’ll have as council members.” She handed out some papers she got from the school staff that basically went into detail. Both Misha and Hinata had read through something similar before the election. She then softened her tone a bit, trying to sound reassuring. “If you think scheduling might be an issue, we can talk things out. And don’t be afraid to back out if you’re having second thoughts. But honestly, its less complicated than it might look.”
If Kyoko and Tsuga looked over the sheets that Hinata handed to them, they would find there there were two special kinds of roles for members of the council that were clearly were not yet filled. The first was the secretary who would handle attendance, keep accounts of the meetings, maintain files, etc. The second was the the treasurer, who would handle the budget and coordinate fun raising. |

Misha continued to stand, a rather focused expression on her face. It was a start constrast to the the seated and more relaxed Hinata, one that Misha was deliberately aiming for. Though Misha's side of the Kitamura family was removed, there were a few things regarding mannerisms that remained and were passed on. "If there is an objection, then it is only this one," Misha said, her eyes looking sideward towards Hinata. "I would like to give a verbal addendum regarding what potential...challenges may be ahead for our inductees. Something that is not covered in the documents." Slowly, Misha closed her eyes and took a breath, composing herself before addressing Tsuga and Kyoko, her eyes still closed. "The role you are about to assume contains a paradox - indeed there is nothing that we will do here that is life-threatening or immensely critical to the world. But, one only has so long to enjoy their youth, so let us not waste our or others with poor actions and decisions. We are a council of students of a single school, but you may find some rather vexing parallels to more adult...politics." There was an obvious sense of digust in Misha's voice as she punctuated the last word. The Russian's pale eyes slowly opened into a narrow gaze, looking between the two in front of her. "Ueno-san and I will make decisions which are bound to be unpopular at least one person, regardless if their opinions are merited or not. Your official duties are as described in the sheets Ueno=san gave you...but the rest of the student body may not be so...cognizant of that. As you can tell by the documents in front of you, you are not our proxies, but you may find that your fellow students will look upon you, praise you, and slander you as if you were." While perhaps the Fukui student body was more relaxed, Misha had heard many horror stories from her friends and family in Tokyo about the treatment of the student council. Misha felt obligated to give such a dire warning, if only from her own fear of putting someone in a situation they did not sign up for. But with that out of the way, Misha's expression returned to the smiling ojou-sama before and spoke in a much more calming tone. "As Ueno-san said, do not be afraid to back out. There is no shame in it." Misha turned to Hinata again. "Ueno-san, please proceeed."
